Indiana Elite 16 U had some tight games this weekend where they needed Joiner to be exceptional on both ends of the court. During some games, it felt like Joiner couldn’t leave the floor for his team as they relied on him to make toughness plays on both ends of the court. When Joiner decides to take over defensively and as a rebounder, it seems like nobody else on the court comes up with a loose ball. Also making strides as a dunker at the rim, Joiner has been turning layups into dunks and using his impressive explosiveness to play above the rim. I absolutely loved how Joiner impacted the game as a rebounder, finisher and defender this weekend, willing his team to some tight victories.

A monster athlete, interior scorer, rebounder and defender at the high school level, all those skills by Joiner were on display on Saturday afternoon. Joiner blocked multiple shots at the rim, using his exceptional vertical explosiveness and timing. Joiner also had a couple steals in the full court press Summit Country Day used that led to easy layups. Two high school seasons for Joiner and two regional championships with Summit Country Day.

Another big game for Joiner who has continued to show why he’s regarded as one of the top 2028’s in the state. Joiner is an elite defender who had a couple of blocks and his overall presence is something opposing offenses must keep track of. Making a couple 3-pointers off movement, Summit Country Day ran some nice sets to free him up. I also liked the confidence of Joiner to attempt a step-back 3-pointer late in the game. That continued perimeter offensive development is most important for Joiner who is as good as it gets athletically and defensively in the class of 2028.

A big time performance on both ends of the court for Joiner, he might be the best pound for pound rebounder in the state. Going hard after every loose ball, Joiner plays like he’s 6’8 on the glass. I also love his aggressiveness defensively gambling for steals that usually end in a transition layup or dunk if he anticipates correctly. One of the top athletes in southwest Ohio, Joiner had some impressive above the rim finishes when he had a runway. Also knocking down a tough pull-up 3-pointer, that’s something I want to see more from Joiner this year. Joiner also left a couple points at the rim and improving his touch at the basket could allow him to score an extra 4 points a night.

There are few prospects, even at the national level, that have the type of physical and athletic tools of this 6’4″-6’5″ wing from Summit Country Day in Ohio. Joiner was excellent on Sunday morning showcasing his athletic ability, dominating the game in transition, and impacting the game defensively. He went for 20 points and 8 rebounds in the game as Indiana Elite 15u took down BABC 15u 76-65. There is a ton of upside to Joiner’s game, but he also has plenty of game right now. He is undoubtedly one of the best prospects in the Midwest right now.

Joiner is a special player. He has such a unique build and look to his game. He has a really long wingspan and huge hands. He moves differently than most – he has a bounce in his step, explosive speed, and can leap out of the gym. He covers so much area of the court on both ends. The biggest takeaway for me was Joiner’s defensive ability and presence. He can instantly take anyone out of the game if he wants. He has great anticipation and shows this with a couple of blocks in the half-court and fastbreak. He had multiple blocks and even one as the one defender back on a fastbreak against three opponents. Then, offensively, this kid can score whenever he wants to. He has a high-level ability to score it on multiple different levels. The ball has a perfect rotation when he shoots it. Goes in often. Joiner has such a high ceiling.

8 AM games usually show who really wants to play hard and give effort and who doesn’t, Joiner certainly falls in the first category as he scored the first 8 points of the game for his team and was active on both ends of the court. Joiner scored off putback layups, drives that turned into floaters and jump stop layups and on a few jumpers against the zone defense. In sudden death overtime Joiner won the game with a strong bucket that showcased exactly what he wants to do offensively. One of the top 2028 prospects, Joiner should help bring a heavy crowd of division I coaches to Midwest live.

One of the top prospects in Ohio’s 2028 class, Joiner was everywhere on Sunday on both ends of the court. With one of the top motors and physical tools in the state, Joiner got too many blocks and offensive rebounds to count thanks to his length, timing and aggressive hands that catch and control almost every rebound that comes his way. Summit Country Day has a lot of depth for a Division V program but Joiner is their most productive player on both ends of the court as just a Sophomore.

One of the most productive freshmen in the state, Joiner had an excellent season for regional champion Summit Country Day where he averaged a team high 15 points and 8.6 rebounds a contest. Joiner also shot 53% from the floor and 32% from 3-point range. I was really impressed with Joiner when I saw him in the summer as a rising freshman and he improved as a perimeter shooter and as a ball handler over the past few months. I expect Joiner to be recruited at the high major level and he should be one of the top 15 U players on the 3SSB circuit with Indiana Elite.

One of the top 2028 prospects in Ohio, Jointer had a dominant performance on Saturday and when I was there on Sunday stood out once again. Since watching him in June, Jointer has taken clear steps as a ball handler and shooter, gaining confidence in both skills. Knocking down multiple step-back 3-pointers off the dribble show that progression as a player. Already very physically developed for his age, Jointer made some plays using his strength just outmuscling guys in the paint. Jointer is a prospect we will be tracking very closely throughout his high school career.
