The most valuable player for Lima Sr on Saturday, Stearns ability to create extra possessions and score in the paint was the main reason the Spartans went into the locker room with a lead. Stearns is an impressive athlete who had a couple powerful dunks to bring the strong Lima supporters section to their feet. Playing with physicality, Stearns finished through contact and wants to go through your chest. Out of Lima’s five starters, Stearns had the best plus minus of the game at just a minus six. While the Spartans lose a talented senior class, Stearns headlines a 2028 class that will be ready to slide into featured roles for the Spartans next season.

Stearns was a bit of an under the radar prospect but no more, Stearns transferred to Lima Senior and now is a name people are finding out about. Stearns has the length, athleticism, rim finishing, perimeter shooting and shot blocking ability to make a huge impact for Lima Senior this season. Those are quite the crucial set of skills for a team that was already filled with guard talent. I got my first look at Stearns at the Lima Mega Scrimmage and am excited to watch him soon with the Spartans during the regular season.

A prospect who has gotten a lot of buzz over the past couple months, this was my first chance to watch Stearns and safe to say he impressed with his performance on both ends of the court. The first thing you notice about Stearns is his impressive motor on the defensive end of the court, rotating as a helpside rim protector and looking for somebody to box out when a shot goes up. A prospect who shows a lot of emotion, Stears isn’t afraid to let the opponents know what’s up after a big time blocked shot or bucket at the rim. Stears size and physicality will be a huge help for Lima Senior when they run up against some slower teams who want to grind it out in the half court.
