About Jeffrey
Expert Analysis
Michael Roth | Prep Hoops Scout
Officially the smallest player in our 2028 rankings, speedy Jeff is a relentless on ball defender who transferred from Lima Central Catholic to Lima Senior to add another gritty guard defender to the Spartans program. The quickness that Williams III has allows him to stay in front of pretty much anybody he defends on the perimeter and his pressure annoys ball handlers so much they consistently try and push off when Williams III is guarding the ball, forcing offensive fouls. Williams III is also coming off a dominant football season for the Spartans, finishing in the top 10 of the state in receiving yards for sophomores according to max preps.

Williams may be undersized at the point guard spot, but he makes up for it with his ability to control the game. He’s an elite floor general with great vision and passing ability, and last year he put on a show at this event. He’s athletic but not all flash he defends, makes smart plays, and always plays the right way. He’s the type of guard every coach wants running their team.

One of the quickest players on the court, Williams is an absolute blur on the court. One of the few 2028 prospects invited to the event, Williams held his own against older competition. A player I was already familiar with because he attended our Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase, Williams continued to perform well on Sunday and projects as one of the top point guards in northwest Ohio’s 2028 class already.

Williams is one of three freshmen who got the invite to the Toledo Top 64 and he deserved it. He is going to be the smallest player at the event but his skill and quickness will make up for it. He will put on a real show for people and they will leave the gym knowing his name. He is a flashy player that gets people on their feet. He is a phenomenal passer and is a pass-first PG. He gets to his spot and dishes to his open teammates. He is a quick player with great energy. He will be a surprising player at this event.
