Schmid likes to play fast and downhill with the ball in his hands as he controls the offense. He draws so much attention from defenses especially when he uses his effective hop-step move in the paint. He can draw double teams from that move and can kick it out to open shooters on the perimeter. The lefty has a quick shot from downtown and creates lots of space with his speed and handles. His finishing game is as good as anyone in his class with the ability to get the ball up over taller defenders no matter the situation.

Schmid is as pure of a scorer as you’ll see as he can make any basket you set in front of him. He sells the pump fake on jump shots well getting defenders in the air so he can get past them. Schmid uses this nice effective hop-stop move when he gets in the paint to got protect the ball and go up strong for the layup or floater. His shot is smooth always knocking down multiple threes a game while breaking down defenders with his crafty handles.

Schmid can make any pass you set in front of him and seems to always make passes right on target. He’s very smart when it comes to playmaking as he looks to wait for plays to develop before rushing into one. Schmid runs the pick-n-roll and pick-n-pop well. He will look to wait for his teammates to back cut baseline most of the time for easy buckets. Schmid also plays under control when running a fastbreak.
