About Lucas

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I like to play above the rim, get out on the fast break, and look for my teammates after I draw a double team. I’m still working on my three point shot, but I think it’s coming along and I’m becoming more confident in it.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m usually easy going, but lock in as practice, training, and games begin. I do joke around in down time, and like to have fun at team events.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m in the engineering program at my school, and we build competitive robots. Next year, we will start competing against other high schools which, and I think that’ll be a cool experience.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Still a work in process, but I want to be supportive of my teammates, and work with the upper classmen on my team to contribute to the team the best way I can. A highlight of my year is Dragon Youth league, where we coach the elementary kids in practices and games. It’s really fun, I even got to coach my little brother last year

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My freshmen year, I played quarterback for the school football team. During a scrimmage, I broke my collar bone and was out for 12 weeks. It was very hard not competing, and coming back doing the physical therapy I had to do. I did come back before the end of the season, which was a big accomplishment.

What type of college are you looking for?

A small to medium sized college with a great business or engineering program is what I’m looking for. For my sports career, I just want to find a team that I can contribute too and can develop me as a player and a person. I know I’m still developing, and want to work to help any team I’m on.

We continue to buy stock in this 6’8″ forward/center from Silver Creek High School. There is certainly no shortage of talent roaming the halls there right now, but we saw him play in a key backup role throughout June and he is showcasing his upside once again there in July. Linderman is super bouncy around the rim as seen by a couple of the big dunks he threw down on Friday night. Additionally, he does a great job of going to rebound the ball with two hands outside of his area as well as deterring and altering shots defensively at the rim.
