Kael Carney Kael Carney 5'11" | PG/SG Thunderridge | 2025 State CO lit up the floor against Fruita Monument, dropping 23 points with a 5 man rotation the whole game. Carney has incredible stamina and never lets off the gas pedal on both ends of the floor. The 5’11 senior has proven himself to be a legitimate threat from all three levels on offense, getting himself any look he wants.

Dependable scoring from distance, he brings plenty of shotmaking gravity already at this stage in his career. The St. Olaf commit is posting 15.7 points per game, absolutely on fire from distance through the first three games.

A quick decision maker, he is a pain to deal with while off-ball, adept attacking downhill quickly off the rip through for floaters and drawn fouls.

Carney remains a dependable shooter, there is nothing new here, however his improvements in handle has opened up the rest of his game. Dependable stepping into pull-up jumpers, he has continued to evolve as an all-around shotmaker from all three levels. Given the scoring gravity from distance, opponents are forced to close out aggressively, opening up driving lanes to draw fouls. ThunderRidge is about as well coached as any program in the state, given their offensive arsenal, they will hang around with some of the state’s best programs.

Carney boasts a very quick jumper, adept at rising up against incoming contests. The returning three point leader in both percentage (37%) and volume (76 attempts), the guard will be increasingly relied upon for his floor spacing abilities. Far from just a shooter, Carney brings an improved handle which has allowed him to be a far more versatile scoring option with Colorado Hoops Academy this past summer.
