Ulmer is one of the most gifted scorers in the entire state and one of the few dawgs in the 2028 class and right now he seems to be on a war path demanding his respect. He had a standout season where he was one of the top players in the conference as only a sophomore putting up 18 points and 4.5 rebounds a game which was impressive, but I feel as if he’s much more deliberate as a scorer from what we’ve seen this Summer. We’ve seen PLENTY Of Ulmer over the past two seasons as he’s not been shy about getting out and competing and comes to every event to put himself and Colorado Springs on the map. He’s been HoopTherapy’s top 17U scorer, the game is seeming to slow down for him, he’s shooting the 3-ball as well as anybody else in the class right now and he had a showing at the sophomore showcase and now the Expo where he was unarguably the best player at both. The only knock on his game right now is team success and leading Fountain Fort Carson to more wins, but if we’re talking individual talent  he’s got it. Add in the fact that he’s a 6’3 scorer who has now added more defense and reading what defenses are giving him to his game to find open teammates and he’s that much more dangerous. He’s making a pretty big jump and hopefully he continues to play with that edge. 

Ulmer is good, but right now we might be seeing the best version of him that we’ve ever seen. He’s very skilled and was finishing with either hand, he takes over at times and scores with ease and what I feel separates him is you know what kind of player you’re going to see each time out. A lights out scorer who can’t be denied. You can tell that Ulmer is very comfortable on the floor right now as he came to the event and played with a chip the entire time. I liked the level of fire that he brought to the Expo. Usually prospects are trying to find the mismatch, not him, he wanted to go at the top guys and he was loud about it. He had a matchup against another top 10 kid and he guarded him and wanted to show that he could defend as well and went right at him and let him know about it too. He was maybe a bit too aggressive at times but I will take that if you’re going to challenge yourself defensively as well. He came up with steals and multiple blocks as well. This was a good barometer for him as you don’t see the double teams at showcases. If he went into every single matchup like this he might be a real problem this year. Maybe a switch has flipped for him and he’s maybe who benefited most for me by getting out to the event. MVP of the event for me.

Ulmer has been one of the steadiest players we’ve seen over the last two summers in club ball, consistently finding ways to impact the game and build his stock. He’s dangerous whenever the ball is in his hands, whether he has space to operate or has to create through pressure, and defenses have to account for him at all times. Ulmer elevated his game this summer and has really grown into a dependable leader his teammates can lean on. We believe a big season is ahead, and The Expo gives him another opportunity to showcase that growth, compete against quality competition and show how much more his game has developed heading into the year

I’ve watched Ulmer score a lot of points since last summer, but this was the most balanced offensive performance I’ve seen from him for a stretch, and it’s because of what he’s added to his game. The perimeter shot remains elite as he has a deep 3-ball, is one of the few mid-range attackers, and creates for himself off the dribble. But what stood out was how often he attacked the paint. He finished through traffic, got a couple of dunks, and showed off more than a reliable jumpshot. That’s something we hadn’t seen a ton of. Against Morgan Dawgs, he completely took over, stringing together 15 straight points with step-backs, crafty finishes, and tough buckets around the basket. His scoring has never been in question. Expanding where those points come from only raises his ceilin,g as he showed me he could go inside as well. Can’t wait to see what he adds next. Solid outing from him at Tune Up. 

Ulmer is always a pleasure to watch with his steady, reliable presence that Fountain Fort Carson depends on. The game appeared to slow down for him this weekend, allowing him to play at his own pace and consistently make the right reads. His ability to control the tempo creates space for his offense, and he took full advantage by knocking down his shots. Ulmer was especially effective in the mid range and from beyond the arc, where he consistently found openings and made defenses pay. His smooth shooting stroke and confidence with the ball make him a difficult matchup, and he continues to establish himself as one of the most dependable shooters on the floor. When Fountain Fort Carson needs a basket or a calming presence, Ulmer is often the player who delivers

Ulmer continues to elevate his game and proved it again with an impressive showing at the tournament. He does a little bit of everything on the floor, impacting both ends with his versatility. Offensively he’s a confident scorer who can stretch the defense with his three point shooting while also attacking off the bounce and finishing strong at the rim. He plays with control, picking his spots and making smart decisions with the ball. Defensively he stood out with active hands, generating steals and locking in with tough man to man coverage. With his all around skill set and continued growth, Ulmer is trending toward a big summer

Ulmer is seeing new career highs across the board, making night and day changes to his rebounding and assist totals. The 6’3 all-star has handles on a string and impressive court vision that he implements to lead Fountain-Fort Carson with confidence. His gargantuan improvement marks a significant difference in the way he approaches the game. Ulmer is heading into the summer with a new wave of swagger, and I’d expect him to take on even bigger roles during the second half of his high school tenure.

Ulmer’s rebounding is a new career high for him, posting numbers that his coaching staff at FFC can count on. The top-ranked guard in the class of 2028 in the box state has shown tremendous growth, letting his shots fly without an ounce of hesitation. As a 6’3 all-around guard, Ulmer is able to easily shoot over defenders and create plenty fo space for himself to thrive.

Ulmer is proving that his freshman season was just the beginning at Fountain Fort Carson, taking another leap with an outstanding start this year. Averaging 18.5 points and 6.2 rebounds, he’s in constant attack mode and has a natural feel for putting the ball in the basket. He keeps defenses on their heels with his ability to score in the mid and short game, and he’s also showing a confident, improved touch from deep. Ulmer’s scoring instincts, aggression and growth make him one of the most dangerous offensive players in the league right now

Ulmer is another player that has made a huge leap in the rankings because of the work that he put in over the summer. Thing is, he was a player that we were high on heading into the summer as he had a solid freshman season, but did not have the overall team success to determine if it was a good player on a bad team or not. We also wanted to see him against other top players in the state. Well, he answered those questions all summer long as he came to EVERYTHING with a point to prove. He dominated in grassroots with Hoops Therapy as their best player and came to showcases and was one of the best players there amongst the best in the class. There’s high expectations for him this season but he’s proved that he belongs. He moves into the Top-10.
