Potts has found success as a lead guard who gets downhill at will, bringing a quick first step and the necessary handle to deal with opposing perimeter defenses. Capable of creating space in the mid-range, he continues to provide consistent scoring off the dribble. Especially effective scoring from anywhere inside the arc, there are not many guards down in this region who are as unpredictable one on one as Potts. When needed to play off-ball, he is active in passing lanes to create steals and generate fast breaks as needed.
