-This weekend was my first time seeing the incoming freshman and he has the athletic tools and skillbase to be very successful long-term as a dynamic 3/4 tweener. Hopkins scored off an AND1 floater high off the glass in transition, knocked down a midrange jumper off the catch, attacked a closeout from the corner to hit a short floater, and was an effective dump-off finisher around the basket with a series of step through of 2-foot floater finishes. Loved the way that he served as a roving connector that lifted from the elbow to block or vice versa to hit wing shooters to collect hockey assists in the halfcourt. He moves exceptionally well for his size and is a good leaper that projects to be a switchable 3-5 defender once he has added weight to his frame.

Hopkins is a name that will trend among the 2030 DMV class after making the decision to attend Bethel Academy where he’ll play significant minutes for a freshman. The 6-foot-6 wing has intriguing long-term tools and as he continues to adjust to varsity level basketball, the flashes that he’s shown will become routine quickly. He’d cap off his weekend averaging 6PPG and 3RPG, but the vision of the player that he has the chance to become over the next year is what makes the current production even louder.
