Eric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
A contributor on one of the country’s top teams, Harsanyi is poised to continue expanding both his role and overall development. He’s a capable shot maker who can stretch the floor, and he has the athleticism to finish above the rim when attacking. Harsanyi plays with a high IQ, competes with toughness, and brings a reliable, team first approach that should allow his impact to grow moving forward.

and rightfully so, but it is the role players who will decide how far into the national conversation the Panthers continue to trek towards. Harsanyi is one of the more under-the-radar guys, but there’s no overlooking his elite long-range shooting and as Oak Hill tried to make several defensive adjustments in hopes of putting together stops, it was the 6-foot-3 junior that buried demoralizing three’s. His quick trigger allowed for advance passes from Smith, Turk Brown and others as Harsanyi did his sprinting early on the break to get his feet set and let it fly. As Oak Hill attempted to limit penetration in the half court, Harsanyi would spot up a few feet beyond the arc making it impossible for his defender to get a clean contest on the catch. He nailed four three’s to finish with 12 points in the win.

The junior may be the team’s best pure shooter. He has a quick release, strong shot preparation, and a natural feel for finding open looks within the offense. His ability to space the floor and make defenses pay adds real value to the lineup. He also plays with a toughness and competitiveness.

-Harsanyi is putting together consistent performances at the defensive end as a physical guard that fights to stay in front, earning him ample time to show his shooting ability. A knockdown shooter with a quick, compact shooting form- he effectively spaced the floor for his team while mixing in some ball reversals and 1 or 2-dribble drives to space to find passing angles to keep the defense honest.

-Came in cold off the bench and gave the Panthers some good minutes in both halves as a shooter that spaces the floor for his team. Harsanyi knocked down a huge 3 late in the 4Q, scored on runouts in transition at the rim, and competed defensively. Forcing his matchup to their weak hand to force dribble pick-ups and make his opponent more uncomfortable will probably be the next stage of his development.
