2027 who should have schools checking him out this week is Johnson. Jaden was the Stars’ leading scorer on day one, putting up 18 points on 4-8 3FG in the 26-point win. With how fast Upward plays and how active their bigs can be on the glass, Jaden gets easy looks all the time. He has become a very good shooter on the move and has made his release faster, allowing him to take advantage of open looks more efficiently. Johnson also showed some of his playmaking acumen with 4 assists, a couple of which set up other spot-up threats with good looks.

leads off my five best from the GBCA SE Live. He was one of the best Point Guards I saw all weekend long, racking up 25 points and 4 assists against Tri-Cities (GA) and 16 points and 6 assists against Mooresville (NC). Johnson is lightning quick with the ball in his hands and hits tough shots off the dribble at all three levels. However, one thing that stood out to me this weekend was his passing. Jaden’s passing has gone up a level this summer, so he’s now just as deadly setting up a teammate as he is scoring the ball himself. After a very impressive weekend in Georgia, Johnson received his first offer from Grambling State.
This Dorman Guard has been one of the best scorers in the state since he made the move to Roebuck before the start of his sophomore season. He already has 1,000 points as a Cavalier, being one of the fastest in program history to do so. When someone, particularly a guard, breaks a Dorman record, you take notice. They have a long history of producing next-level stars, and Johnson looks like he could be next in line to be one of those.
One of the most intriguing parts about this matchup was the high-level scoring capabilities of each team’s best guard. For Dorman, that was Jaden JohnsonJadenJohnson

, who was honored at the start of the game for scoring 1,000 points in 52 games as a Cavalier, the fastest player in program history to do so. Jaden looked in the mood to put the ball in the basket in the first half, showing out with 18 points while consistently beating his man off the dribble, hitting difficult shots around the rim, and adding spacing with spot-up shooting.

was a bright spot for the Cavaliers in a loss to Cedar Grove (GA). Despite facing a team with several bigger Guards and true rim protectors, Johnson looked unafraid of contests at the rim and on the perimeter. Part of that was his jump shot’s quick release, which allows him to get the ball up before a defender can adjust. Jaden also stood out as a ball-handler, navigating traffic and excelling at high speeds. Johnson finished with 22 points in the loss, including 3 3PM and two and-1s.
Playing at the Upward Star Center, Jaden wasn’t too far from home. The Dorman Cavalier had a nice showing in a comfortable Game Two win for Upward Stars SE 2027. Johnson had success scoring the ball throughout the game and at all three levels. Jaden is a tough finisher at the rim, has a terrific mid-range game, and is comfortable shooting off the dribble or spotting up from deep range. He also got frequent penetration into the paint, where he kept defenders off balance with the thought of him scoring or dumping off to his bigs. Jaden had 11 points and 4 assists in the win.
