The 2026 Adidas 3 Stripes Select Basketball league began this weekend in Ladera Ranch, California. This league is one of the best grassroots circuits in the country every year, and this year is no different. South Carolina-based [program_tooltip program_id='2078752' first='Upward' last='Stars SE'] had their 17U and 16U teams out West for Session 1, plus there were two in-state prospects playing with out-of-state programs. Check out this statistical update and five top performers from Adidas 3SSB Session 1:

[player_tooltip player_id='1486211' first='Josh' last='Leonard'] - The Prep Hoops South Carolina #1 Overall Prospect, [player_tooltip player_id='1486211' first='Josh' last='Leonard'], leads off the top performers from 3SSB Session 1. Leonard caught the eye of several national scouts out in Ladera Ranch, with multiple citing his two-way production as the reason behind his success. He was also quite efficient, with the team-leading 19.8 PPG coming on 70% FG%. Josh played up every year with the Stars, so it's not a surprise to see him dominate the competition now that he is playing against others his age.

[player_tooltip player_id='1982890' first='Colt' last='Fowler'] - Many within the Upward program were excited at the idea of finally getting to see Leonard play next to Fowler this summer. Not only can Colt unlock the best in Josh, but he will also get the freedom of not being the first name on the scouting report every game. He had two monster games on day two, putting up 29 points and 5 assists in a win over BABC and 21 points and 9 assists in a win over Phenom United. Colt is a true, winning Point Guard, so when he puts up numbers like this, expect it to result in wins for the Stars often.

[player_tooltip player_id='2433116' first='Antoine' last='Caughman Jr'] - Running the show in the 16U division for [program_tooltip program_id='2078752' first='Upward' last='Stars SE'] was Caughman. He sits at second in 3SSB 16U through four games with 23.5 PPG. Although he did have a high volume of 2PT FGs and 3PT FGs, Antoine balanced playmaking with his monster scoring games, as he had 2.5 APG. Caughman also made 14 threes in California, earning himself another top-five mark in the league. Look for the college interest to continue to grow around Antoine if he continues this level of play with live periods and contact periods nearing.

[player_tooltip player_id='1982894' first='RJ' last='Davis'] - RJ made the move to Atlanta-based Game Elite this season and is already off to an excellent start with his new team. They have a couple of excellent true bigs on the roster, so Davis is freed up to use his length and athleticism to affect the game in multiple ways. His best game of the weekend was easily his first one - an 18-point, 9-rebound, 5-assist, and 3-block performance in a win over ASAK. His shooting numbers were up and down, but that is the key to him unlocking his full potential, and could be the difference in a deep July run for Game Elite.

[player_tooltip player_id='2405568' first='Brice' last='Wiersma'] - Another 2028 on a new team this spring rounds out the list - [player_tooltip player_id='2405568' first='Brice' last='Wiersma']. Wiersma has had an excellent first few tournaments with Garner Road, and 3SSB Session 1 was no different. He had as good of an individual performance as anyone in the 16U division on Saturday, putting up 30 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 blocks on 14-21 FG in a win over BABC. Like Davis, Brice is much freer to play his natural position and dominate certain matchups on both ends of the floor.
