leads off the list. It wasn’t the best day for Garner Road 3SSB 16U from a team perspective, but Brice was a major bright spot and arguably one of the best players in the gym. He was the most effective and efficient option for GRBC in the highly anticipated matchup with Team CP3, going for a game-high 19 points. Wiersma got going early with a pair of left-handed finishes before making his presence felt defensively over the next few minutes. He continued to impact the game in a versatile way with work in the post, excellent passing, and a catch-and-shoot three. Those inside the state already knew how good Brice is, but this weekend went a long way in showing the rest of the Southeast who he is.

Brice really turned it on in the third quarter to keep the Yellow Jackets within striking range. He had 11 points and 2 assists in the period, showcasing his combination of post moves and off-the-dribble creation. At his size, that pair is a matchup nightmare for high-school teams, but also very intriguing for college coaches. Those flashes of potential included a pull-up three, finishes through contact at the rim, and an assist as a pick-and-pop ball-handler. Wiersma finished with 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists in the loss.

Wiersma is the other 15U Star who stood out on Wednesday. He formed a great interior connection with Moore, also working very hard on the offensive glass. Brice was much more productive as a scorer in the second half, putting up 13 of his 16 points in the final 16 minutes. He showcased his polish in the post, working with his back-to-the-basket and on short drives. Wiersma also impressed on the defensive end of the floor, racking up four blocks to go with the stellar offensive showing.

Wiersma was a bright spot in the tough loss for Upward Stars SE against Team CP3 EYCL. Brice’s offensive game is a nice change of pace that makes a defense scramble. He is the Stars’ most polished post scorer but often gets a smaller defender to work on. Wiersma worked with his back to the basket often, but when driving he favors a spin move. Brice also is a weapon on the offensive glass. In Saturday’s second game, he racked up 12 points and 8 rebounds.

starts off my list of 2028s to watch at the Prep Hoops Carolina Freshman Showcase. Brice had a dominant year at McCants Middle School last year and spent the summer playing up an age group with

15U. Wiersma is a confident jump shooter from three and can knock down a mid-range shot off the dribble too. His go-to move in the post is a spin move, which he uses well to get to the rim.
