Pierce exploded from beyond the arc over the weekend, connecting on several three-pointers in one of the games I watched and showcasing the type of shooting ability that can change a game in a hurry. He possesses a college-ready frame, and his physical presence allows him to take up space and impact the game on both ends of the floor. Defensively, Pierce was active in passing lanes and came up with steals that helped generate offense. He also showed a strong understanding of where his teammates were on the floor, consistently finding shooters and slashers in positions to succeed. One of the things I appreciate most about Pierce is his confidence. He never hesitates to let shots fly, even after a few misses, and that mentality is essential for a high-level shooter. I want to see him improve on getting his hips and legs a step or two faster. With several Division I programs already tracking his progress, it is easy to see why there is growing interest. I have been impressed with the strides Pierce has made over the last year and the corner he has turned as a prospect.

Pierce is a matchup nightmare. The 6-foot-7 junior is big and long, but he also has a beautiful shooting stroke. He shoots it quickly and accurately, and he can hit shots on the move and off the dribble. He won’t necessarily wow you with his athletic ability, but his combination of size and shooting ability makes him a lethal threat from downtown. With all of the guards that BABC has to puncture the paint and collapse the defense, Pierce should get TONS of open looks from the perimeter this season, many of which he’ll likely knock down.

was a flamethrower from deep. He just couldn’t miss from beyond the arch and was hitting shots from NBA range easily. He also made a ton of put backs down low off missed shots and played good team defense on the wings.
