The rangy 2 guard had his fingerprints all over the action for St. Thomas Moore. He had a game winning three before time expired against Western Reserve to win 85-82 on Friday. His long reach allow him to alter shots on defense. His ability to make plays for others was seen a handful of times during their second game.

The talent jumps off the page for Hawkins, a silky-smooth wing guard who’s shown tantalizing flashes over his past couple AAU seasons and throughout his first year in the NEPSAC. Now back competing with his age group and in a featured role for the first time, he looks to be turning the all-important corner from “prospect” to “player” while beginning to produce at a consistently high level. Hawkins’ size and well-rounded skillset give him the ability to thrive across situations, both on and off the ball whether in the halfcourt or in transition. With steadily increasing confidence and athleticism, physicality is one of the only things left missing in Hawkins’ arsenal at this point. Having years ahead of him still to address that concern, he could easily wind up one of the flagbearers for his class across all of New England.

Among the highest upside prospects in all of New England, Hawkins took a bit to get his sea legs within the prep school waters but has looked increasingly comfortable and effective down the stretch of the season. A slender wing guard with striking length and movement skills, he excels getting out in transition for smooth and athletic finishes. In the halfcourt, Hawkins shows a strong court sense and is a reliable spotup shooter, with flashes of second-side playmaking. Physicality is still an issue in all facets of the game as he’s still in the early phases of his physical maturation, but Hawkins’ length and well-rounded skillset figure to catch high-major eyes as soon as this summer nonetheless.
