Weeks has steadily given us reasons to believe he can find his way into Grandview’s varsity picture. We watched him throughout the summer, and the Sophomore Showcase reinforced many of the same things that stood out during that stretch. He’s a versatile combo guard who can score, defend and impact plays without needing the basketball constantly in his hands. On what should be a balanced Grandview roster, that type of adaptability could become especially valuable.What I like about Weeks is the number of ways he can fit into a lineup. He has the guard skills to contribute offensively, but his feel allows him to recognize when the game calls for something other than his own shot. That high-IQ approach should help him alongside other talented pieces because he doesn’t have to dominate touches to be effective. After the summer he put together, Weeks has given himself a legitimate opportunity to make his mark at the varsity level very soon.

Weeks was always ready to let it fly throughout the showcase, especially when coming off screens and catching the ball in rhythm. His quick release made him tough to close out on, and he did a nice job staying within the offense instead of forcing shots. Weeks showed good patience, moved into open spaces and waited for the right opportunities to attack. Then he got hot and that’s when defenders had a problem. Once he found his rhythm from the perimeter, the shots started falling in bunches. Weeks is definitely a shooter you better keep an eye on

Weeks was a spark for Tru Colorado, and he started the game off with a bang. He was breaking down the defense and getting to the rim. He had some catch-and-shoot 3 pointers as well, and looked to be the team’s go-to option throughout the game. He ran the floor for finishes, slashed for a left-hand finish, and was who teammates found when Team Daum went into their zone who got a few steals. He handled pressure, made some high IQ reads and passes, and was a big reason that Tru Colorado 2029 Select got a close win in a high-scoring affair on Day 1. Solid game for him.

Just when you thought Weeks would cool down, he’d hit another long bomb. Gannon always stays ready for the catch and spaces the perimeter perfectly.
