Expert Analysis
Jack Pfeiffer | Prep Hoops Scout
Drew brings so much to the table as a lead guard, as his game consists of a great blend of scoring, passing, and defending. He did not make many mistakes with the ball in his hands, having a great feel for the game. He connected on several shots from deep, letting it fly when given any space. He could run the point, being able to move the ball and get everyone involved. Lenz also came away with numerous steals that led to easy baskets on the other end.

When Drew would come in off the bench for Team Herro 15u, he instantly brought another level of energy to the floor. The Winneconne point guard was all over the place coming up with plays defensively, as he’s quick moving his feet laterally on the ball, and has good instincts off the ball to jump passes for steals. From those turnovers he was able to rack up some easy transition finishes, and he also showed he can make plays in the half-court. Unselfish player who can get downhill and dump it off to one of his bigs for an easy two points.

Lenz is one of the most skilled freshman I have seen in the Bay Conference in recent years. He is well beyond his years with his confidence, skill level, and ability to create his own shot for himself and his teammates. With his advanced skill set, Drew is already a well known name in a conference loaded with highly talented players. Lenz is incredibly shifty and can score at all three levels at will. The 5’10 freshman had 15 points and several assists in this contest. Lenz will be a player to watch in 2029 and moving forward in Wisconsin.

Rock-solid lead guard with impressive physical strength and a more-than-impressive skill set. Lenz is an advanced player for his age and already has played a ton of basketball. It shows as he runs a team like a veteran and makes big shots with defenders in his face. Lenz figures to be a key player for an improved Winneconne squad this upcoming season and could wind up being one of the better players to ever come through the program.

Lenz is an exciting prospect looking to lace them up for Winneconne this winter. His crafty handle and high IQ was on display opponents looked to pressure him. His next level understanding of how and when to distribute the ball on time and on target. His approach from the lead guard position really stood out for team 8.

Drew has the look of a point guard who’s going to lead Winneconne to a lot of wins over the next four years. He’s a lightning quick floor general who has the ball on a string, sees the floor well, and makes smart decisions on the ball. Against Minnesota Fury while playing up at the 15u level, Drew was able to beat defenders off the bounce to create his own looks, while also constantly moving when he didn’t have the ball. Tough as nails on ball defender who competes on every possession.

Lenz showcased his value as a high-IQ off-ball mover and perimeter sniper for the Illinois Mavericks. Constant motion and sharp decision-making in the half-court created space for others and limited help-side defensive options. Lenz was locked in as a shooter, converting tough, contested looks with a soft touch. His disciplined shot selection and ability to stretch the floor were critical to the Mavericks’ offensive success.
