I love Baither’s game so much. He’s not playing on one of the highest level Magic teams, but he shows out whenever I watch him play, whether it be during AAU or the high school season. The 6-foot guard looks like he’s meant to dribble the rock and be a point guard. He has a jumpy-ness and rhythm to the way that handles the ball, and he makes live-dribble one-handed passes in his sleep, so he’s a major threat in the pick and roll. He defends his behind off, has great competitiveness, and rises to the big moment, too. Baither isn’t playing the highest level basketball at Bancroft, but he puts up incredible numbers, so high level D3 programs should take notice.

Baither is a player who doesn’t get talked about nearly enough in New England basketball circles. The 6-foot guard is a phenomenal ball handler and has a rhythm and shiftiness to his off the dribble game that’s quite impressive. He has really nice passing vision and is great in the pick and roll, but he can also attack downhill and use his quick first step to get to the hoop. His shot is coming along, though he needs to make it a bit quicker. Baither will probably be Bancroft’s leading scorer this season and should have a big rise if he does what I think he’ll do.

Baither is only 5-foot-11 and very skinny, which might be the reason there’s less buzz about him than there should be. He’s lightning quick with the ball in his hands and has the rock on an absolute string. He can make any pass in the book — live-dribble one-handed passes with either hand, cross-court overhead passes, and look aways — but he can also finish athletically at the rim with great touch and control if the help doesn’t come. For a rising sophomore, he has a pretty special skill set that should only improve as he gets older, taller and stronger. College coaches of ALL LEVELS, turn your heads to Baither.
