Another senior for Moeller who left it all on the court, Kelly had some huge plays that swung momentum in favor of the Crusaders. Kelly had a nice sweep and go move early in the game where he finished with his left hand at the rim. The most impressive play Kelly made was throwing down a dunk off a cut in the half court that cut right through the Wayne zone defense. Impressive career for Kelly who brought winning intangibles to the court every game.
A statement performance by Kelly, he was sensational as a play finisher, moving without the basketball and making himself available to catch and score. With a game that is going to fit in perfectly from day one at the small college level, Kelly is strong, efficient and tough, bringing winning qualities to the court. While I don’t expect him to average 20 PPG this season, Kelly’s efficiency should remain as he basically never forces the issue and Kelly’s teammates, especially sophomore point guard Bubba DonaldBubbaDonald

, do an excellent job at finding him when he’s open.
I like what Kelly brings to the table as a physical forward with a high IQ and relentless motor. Kelly was overpowering defenders in the paint and uses pivots to create angles to score at the rim. I also like Kelly’s playmaking from the forward position, with impressive vision to scan the court and find the open man. Kelly fits the physical style of GCL-South basketball perfectly and should play a major role for the Crusaders this winter.
A flat out winner who does all the dirty work, winning teams need glue guys like Kelly and there’s a reason he played a winning role for Ohio Champion, the runners up of the UA Rise circuit this season. An extremely high academic prospect as well, it’s no surprise small college powerhouse programs like Denison have offered Kelly. On such a young Moeller team next season, a senior leader like Kelly will help set the standard this season.
Toughness and playing with a high motor will get you places in any level of basketball and Kelly checks both of those boxes. A forward who can attack off the dribble, offensive rebound and use either hand to score, Kelly was efficient and active on the offensive end of the floor for a Moeller squad that is incredibly young. Kelly’s toughness and leadership shows when he is on the court with his younger teammates, taking care of the basketball and playing under control. Denison recently offered Kelly and the defending NCAC champions have had a lot of success keeping small college Ohio talent in the state, Kelly could be the next in-state commit they secure.
