. A smooth, natural scorer, Harney has a confident touch from both deep and midrange. Cash just has a knack for simply putting the ball in the basket. He’s a pure athlete, also serving as the starting quarterback for Covington Catholic’s football team. On the basketball court, Harney takes care of the ball and rarely turns it over, showing poise as a ball-handler. Even when matched up against bigger defenders, he stays unfazed and continues to produce at a high level.

Off to a strong start to his Junior season, Cash climbs from 47th to 38th in this update and seems primed for a big season for Cov Cath. A highly skilled guard, Harney excels as a playmaker. He gets into the paint routinely and is a capable shooter when needed (3/8 from three through 4 games). Cash has the athleticism and strength to be a lockdown defender when he needs to be and has scholarship level upside in both basketball and football.

In 18 games last season he averaged 15 points and pulled down an average of 2.8 rebounds. He started for the Tigers the last two seasons, so he has the experience. Also, he has a high IQ, with great court vision, has the ability to be a playmaker.

Harney had been the starting point guard for Beechwood the last two seasons before transferring to Covington Catholic this summer. This Catholic team will be on the smaller side and guard heavy but Cash should carve out a nice role for himself as a distributor. Harney is a good athlete and has good floor vision. He’ll definitely help a Cov Cath program that is constantly reloading.
