Andy has had a huge season for Cooper after having a big summer where he racked up a bunch of D1 offers. Johnson is the 9th region co-player of the year and should help UIC right away as a freshman.

A thrilling overtime victory was fueled by Johnson as these two powerhouse programs did not disappoint. One of the top wing scorers in Kentucky, Johnson did an excellent job using his burst to get to the rim and he used his size and hangtime to avoid shot blockers and finish past shot blockers. Johnson prefers to attack going right off the pick and roll, wanting to get a head of steam at the rim or stopping on a dime for a mid-range pull-up. At the end of the game, Johnson blocked a shot to seal the victory in overtime.

Probably the biggest stock riser in Kentucky this summer. Johnson went from no D1 offers to almost double figures and has signed with UIC. He could get Cooper out of the 9th and into Rupp Arena with a big season.

The single biggest stock riser of the summer, Johnson has added several D1 offers in the last month and went from a D2 prospect to a surefire D1 player. Andy is an athletic wing and big time shooter who reminds me of a bigger version of former Cooper Jaguar Adam Kunkel.

Perhaps the biggest stock riser in Kentucky last week, Johnson has gone from no offers to 4 D1 offers in the span of a week. A big and athletic guard, Andy has impressed with his finishing and three point shooting. Look for him to continue building his momentum.

Another player I got to see for the first time this weekend, Johnson was a standout for Kentucky Hoops Dreams and in the process picked up three Division I offers this weekend. An impressive scorer on the perimeter, Johnson was able to get to his spots off the dribble and can pull up anywhere 25 feet and in. Making some tough shots on the perimeter, that’s a skill that should translate for Johnson. Also having enough burst and shiftiness off the dribble to create enough space to rise up and fire away, Johnson was playing with a lot of confidence and freedom. A player who was under the radar has really exploded onto the scene and college coaches didn’t hesitate after seeing Johnson this weekend to throw offers on the table.
