Expert Analysis
Tom Keller | Prep Hoops Scout
Workman touched the game in different ways throughout the weekend. He made shots from beyond the three point line which is one of his mainstays as a prospect. Liked how he found ways to frequently touch the paint and seek out contact. He spent some time at the foul line and made the most of his opportunities there. Workman used his length to rebound the basketball.

Aggressive however not necessarily breaking the flow of the offense, Austin Workman demonstrated his ability to be reliable and efficient scoring threat. Benefiting from defensive rotations, Workman showcased his slashing ability, attacking closeouts off the bounce and finishing in the lane in traffic and absorbing contact at the basket. Countering that slashing ability, Workman also showcased some of his outside shooting touch with his natural perimeter spot up shooting.

It’s important in recruiting to strike at the right time, and Workman did just that in a dominant Sunday afternoon game. In the feature game of a somewhat light game set, with several D1 head coaches lingering around for the following game, the Swiss-army wing guard made a statement in a 30-point win to earn his way onto D1 boards himself. Workman was unstoppable in transition, pushing the break into timely dropoff passes or running lanes for explosive dunks. His ability to also initiate halfcourt offense at his size while being able to keep things honest as a spotup shooter make him a no-brainer at the scholarship level (as indicated by a Sunday night offer by D2 Goldey Beacom) with a real chance to prove himself as a D1 player if he continues this level of play.
