Also a very good baseball prospect as a left-handed pitcher, this 6’10” center from Guerin Catholic caught our attention this spring playing EG10 15u. The size obviously is something that will immediately making him intriguing, but Countryman also has a soft touch as a finisher inside and moves around pretty well for his size and age. It is always worth monitoring young big men closely as they develop.

You won’t find many, if any, bigger bodies in Indiana’s Class of 2029 right now than Countryman. The 6’9″ center had a strong showing for a very talented EG10 15u team at Prep Hoops The Stage a couple of weekends ago. He is a capable scorer around the basket, but really excels right now as a rim protector. Countryman blocks a lot of shots but disrupts/changes even more. There is a lot to like about the young big man from Guerin Catholic.

At 6’10, He brings a unique presence. He’s a mobile big who runs the floor well and protects the rim on the defensive end. His shot-blocking ability changed possessions, and offensively, he showed soft touch finishing around the basket. With his size and mobility combination, his ceiling is high as he continues to develop.
