Anytime you come across a young prospect with this type of size he is going to be on your radar. Countryman is a 6’10” left-handed center with legitimate interior skill on the offensive end. He scores it consistently with his left hand over his right shoulder, rebounds his area, and uses his size to be in the way at the rim defensively. Guerin Catholic will be one of the top teams in Class 3A this season and Countryman should start to make a bit of an impact at the varsity level, but the next two years will definitely be big for him.

Grand Park Premier – Silver 15u came up short on Saturday morning, but this 6’9″ left-handed center showed off his wide range of offensive skills while filling in for them. Countryman scored it around the basket with both hands and stretched the floor out to three-point range. He is comfortable as a left-hand, right-shoulder interior finisher, but has a much wider skill set as well that is highly intriguing given his size. One to watch as a rising sophomore at Guerin Catholic.

Also a very good baseball prospect as a left-handed pitcher, this 6’10” center from Guerin Catholic caught our attention this spring playing EG10 15u. The size obviously is something that will immediately making him intriguing, but Countryman also has a soft touch as a finisher inside and moves around pretty well for his size and age. It is always worth monitoring young big men closely as they develop.

You won’t find many, if any, bigger bodies in Indiana’s Class of 2029 right now than Countryman. The 6’9″ center had a strong showing for a very talented EG10 15u team at Prep Hoops The Stage a couple of weekends ago. He is a capable scorer around the basket, but really excels right now as a rim protector. Countryman blocks a lot of shots but disrupts/changes even more. There is a lot to like about the young big man from Guerin Catholic.

At 6’10, He brings a unique presence. He’s a mobile big who runs the floor well and protects the rim on the defensive end. His shot-blocking ability changed possessions, and offensively, he showed soft touch finishing around the basket. With his size and mobility combination, his ceiling is high as he continues to develop.
