A huge performance at the state tournament against Ottawa Glandorf showed the improvements Abrams made during his senior season. An impressive athlete who uses his quick twitch athleticism plus length to disrupt ball handlers and also knock down shots from the perimeter. Passing 1,000 points earlier this season, Abrams has been a consistent contributor for the Warriors the past few years. I’ll be curious to see which level Abrams ends up at, he could be an option at Division II, III, NAIA or JUCO programs.

The top performer of the day, Abrams was everywhere on both ends of the court. Active defensively as he uses his length and jumps passing lanes. The turnovers that Harvest Prep were able to force allowed Abrams to get out in transition where he had a couple breakaway dunks and layups. In the half-court offensively, Abrams caught fire from the outside as a spot up shooter, even hitting a sidestep 3-pointer as well. With his quick first step, Abrams was able to get to the paint and had some key drives including an and-1 late to give Harvest Prep some much needed separation. One of the more improved players from central Ohio this season, Abrams is on a clear upward trajectory and will look to lead his team to a state title on Sunday.

Abrams had a huge second quarter and that carried over the entire rest of the game. This kid was everywhere on the floor. He had deflections, steals, blocks, and charges. He truly made every hustle play in the second quarter. He knocked down a couple of threes. Some were very timely. He was outstanding on the defensive end. He can apply immense pressure and has the length to take risks to reach.

Abrams came out of the gates aggressively on Tuesday night and took the game over early. His length and finishing ability make him a nightmare to stop in transition. He got a ton of points at the rim off of turnovers he forced. His defense is really good and he gets his hand on the ball all the time which creates havoc for the other team. In the half-court, he showed a really smooth shot. He can knock it down from all levels. He is best when it is catch-n-shoot from beyond the arc. I was also impressed with Abrams’s ability to rebound as well.

Harvest Prep was dominant in a battle of Division III private schools when they squared up against Lake Catholic. Abrams was efficient from the floor, getting a lot of steals and transition layups off turnovers from Lake Catholic. His motor was running all game and he’s also a knockdown shooter with his feet set. Abrams capped off the win with an impressive dunk to get him to 21 points on the evening. This was the third Harvest Prep game I was able to catch this season and I thought this was Abrams’ best performance of the three. He was knocking down shots with confidence and also made some impressive passes as a distributor in more of a play-making role with

Abrams shot the crap out of the ball early as Harvest Prep was making it rain from downtown. Abrams has a smooth lefty jumper that was going right through the net as Harvest Prep built a double-digit lead in the second quarter. Abrams was also making simple passes to open teammates. If Harvest Prep can replicate the level of play they had in the first half they will be a tough team to beat, with limited bench production they need to find a way to play with that intensity for 32 minutes instead of just 16.
