Wednesday night I went to D1 District Semifinals games at Central Crossing as Hilliard Bradley beat Olentangy Liberty 57-37 and Olentangy Orange beat Columbus South 67-53. On Thursday night I went to D3 District Final games at Ohio Dominican as Worthington Christain beat Columbus Academy 60-47 and an instant classic as Harvest Prep got the win 62-61 over Africentric. This article will cover the top seniors from these games.
Abrams had a huge second quarter and that carried over the entire rest of the game. This kid was everywhere on the floor. He had deflections, steals, blocks, and charges. He truly made every hustle play in the second quarter. He knocked down a couple of threes. Some were very timely. He was outstanding on the defensive end. He can apply immense pressure and has the length to take risks to reach.
LaJames Washington
LaJames Washington
Washington played the final game of his high school career on Wednesday night against Olentangy Orange. He played his tail off against one of the best teams in the Central Ohio area. He was extremely tough to stay in front of. He can stop on a dime and is a really shifty player. His change of direction and speed is something he can do whenever he wants. He is a physical player when attacking the rim. Absorbs contact and creates contact. He has good length and plays hard defensively.
Freeman is a bucket. This kid has some great touch when attacking the lane. He uses the backboard very well. He has an unlimited range. He played really well in the third quarter and kept the Nubians in the game. He did a great job of making the defenders change their hips and attack. He has an incredibly tight handle on the ball. This truly shows while the defense applies pressure he dribbles through and passes the defenders easily. Freeman is a very talented scoring guard.
Andrew Lamb
Andrew Lamb
Lamb played a great game for Bradley. He excelled in his role for the Jaguars. He needed to be on the floor because of the impact he made. He was doing the dirty work all game. He is a guard with great length which led him to be one of their best defenders all game. He grabbed a ton of rebounds. He made the right play consistently. He attacks the basket very well too. He finished the game with 10 points and was Bradley’s second-highest scorer.
Bischoff was a sniper in his District Semifinals game against Olentangy Liberty Wednesday night. He was coming off screen ready to shoot and hunting his shot. He was confident the ball was going to go in when it touched his hands. He did not force any shot up but he also needed little to no space to get it off. A kid who can hit big-time threes in big games in the tournament is pretty huge to have for your team. Bischoff was that for Hilliard Bradley.
