Freeman is a bucket. This kid has some great touch when attacking the lane. He uses the backboard very well. He has an unlimited range. He played really well in the third quarter and kept the Nubians in the game. He did a great job of making the defenders change their hips and attack. He has an incredibly tight handle on the ball. This truly shows while the defense applies pressure he dribbles through and passes the defenders easily. Freeman is a very talented scoring guard.

Africentric had an up and down season this year but hit a surge in January with some signature victories against a tough non-conference schedule. Freeman was the driving force behind this surge with his ability to score the basketball. Capable of getting hot from the perimeter and a lightning-fast player in transition, Freeman had to take on primary scoring responsibilities after Dailyn Swain graduated. I also like what Freeman brings from the point of attack defensively with his length and ability to pressure the ball. Wilberforce offered Freeman earlier this month and that would make sense as a potential fit for the Columbus City League Star.

This transfer should take Africentric to the next level. The Nubians last year won the city league and with a player like Freeman, they are favorites to repeat. Swain did not play for the Nubians this weekend so Freeman had the offensive responsibility and that’s a good spot to be in. Freeman’s offensive bag is very deep. He has unlimited range on his shot and is super skilled. Natural scorer. Tough finisher. Once he and Swain are on the court together Afrocentric will be very tough to stop.

Freeman was great in June with his new squad, adding an extra punch to an Africentric squad looking to get one step further after losing in the state semifinals last season.

Freeman is a prospect who I thought really took a step this summer and is now a Division I prospect. Freeman improved his catch and shoot ability from behind the 3-point line and had a great month of June with Africentric, playing next to
