Deloney is a part of Africentric’s deep 2029 class that should have the Nubians competing for regional and state titles again either this season or next. Deloney is a talented transition athlete who has grown and built his frame over the past two seasons. Excited to see what growth Deloney can show with his skill as he continues to get adjusted to his body and height. A top wing forward in the Columbus City League, Deloney might only be a sophomore but he will be expected to be a leader for Africentric with his varsity experience from freshman year and in June with the Nubians.

Africentric will have one of the most exciting young teams in the state of Ohio this season as a large majority of their production will come from their 2029 class. A talented group that fills multiple positions, Deloney is the most intriguing of the bunch right now. Deloney had a solid spring for Phenom United 15 U and I caught the Nubians in June at Ohio State’s team camp and Deloney stood out with his length, physical tools, quick twitch athleticism, rebounding and interior scoring. A modern forward, Deloney is quick with the ball in his hands and does a nice job of crashing the glass for putbacks. A name to remember in the Columbus City League for the next three seasons.

Phenom United 15 U got a nice win to end my night as they had a handful of players contribute to the victory. I landed on Deloney as my standout from their group as his rebounding and interior scoring was valuable for their group. Deloney has a long wingspan, is a quick leaper and plays hard which makes him a strong rebounder at the 15 U level. Offensively, Deloney is still developing his skills but he had a nice catch and patient turn and finish on the block on Friday night. Africentric always has long and hungry athletes and Deloney should be next in line to be a star from the Nubians program.
