About Dawson

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I always try to play smart and make the right decision on the court. People say I’m a great shooter, and I spend a lot of time in the gym working to get better. I’m known for hitting shots off the catch, but I’m also working hard to improve at driving to the basket, handling pressure, and helping run the offense for my team.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

God is first in my life, and I try to show that in everything I do. I work hard to be a player with good character, play with sportsmanship, and keep my grades up. I’ve become tougher and more focused in my game, and I enjoy being in competitive situations where I can grow as a player and a person.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’m the captain of my team, which has helped me become a better leader and communicator, both on and off the court. Outside of sports, I’m active in my church, where I volunteer and help with youth activities. I also take part in local mission projects, and those experiences have taught me how important it is to serve others and make a difference in my community.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

In my sophomore year, I got hurt and was supposed to be out for six to eight weeks. I really wanted to get back sooner, so I did rehab every day and followed everything the doctors and therapists told me to do. Because of that, I healed faster and made it back in time for the Sweet Sixteen. I was proud to lead my team in scoring as we made it to the Final Eight.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college team that really values three-point shooting and has coaches who are known for being honest off the court and building a winning team on the court.
