It was a complete breakdown in positioning and indicative of an erosion of effort by the hosting Admirals. Asbaty continues to impact games without needing shot attempts. He is a true senior with an obvious mission that aligns with Bearden’s team goals.

provided Ravenwood’s Raptors with repeated problems. The senior guard denied entry passes and used his feet to intercept passes. Deflections also served as a big part of his defensive effort. Together Asbaty and Nordin really rattled the Raptors and punished their timidity and indecisiveness.

7/17/25: Heady point guard. Good strength. Just ok speed. He was unable to burst past Top Shot defenders. Perhaps that will be an indication of his college style. Remember Jason Kidd was unable to blow by defenders. Same with Andre Miller. It is not impossible to be a solid point guard if you are not speedy, but it is certainly more difficult. Offensively, Carson did not have a dominant first half, but no bigger shot occurred for Catholic than Asbaty’s 22′ floated three to beat the halftime buzzer. Without it Knoxville Catholic was down 11 points, a demoralizing figure halfway home. With the make, Catholic entered their locker rooms with an uplifting energy and a manageable 8-point deficit.
