Not to be outdone by the wings or bigs, there are a number of lead guard prospects coming into their own this Spring anf Summer. They come in different flavors and all are taking the necessary steps in their development. Here are the top 5:

#4 [player_tooltip player_id='2364771' first='Vince' last='Evans III'] | 5'10 Seaford

Evans was busy this Spring putting work in on the baseball diamond, where he earned All-state honorable mention honors as a pitcher. He's picked up right where he left off on the court, at the 1st State Sports Summer League. Wherever he has the ball, the modern guard is a threat to score or make plays for others. With the departure of their leading scorer from this past season, the Bluejays might need Evans III to put the ball in the hoop a little more.

#6 [player_tooltip player_id='2352451' first='Latrell' last='Wright'] | 5'10 Salesianum

At Conrad, Wright went from a catch-and-shoot specialist as a freshman to high-usage creator as a sophomore. He comes over to Sallies to help them rebuild after 3 straight state title game appearances and the graduation of 6 of their 7 top contributors. So while Wright is an s-class shooter with experience carrying a team, he'll need to be more of a table setter on Broom St.

#8 [player_tooltip player_id='2352456' first='Nick' last='Baysah'] | 5'9 Howard

A season ago, the Wildcats had a motley crew that gave teams fits with Baysah in the mix. Going into his junior year, everything is situated around his drive-and-kick game. If ever in need of a paint touch, Baysah has it covered. The pass-first guard collapses the defense at a high level and is wired to make plays for others. And when the help doesn't come, he can get to his spots at the second level. If he's ready to be the fulltime primary initiator, Howard could be dangerous.

#15 [player_tooltip player_id='2364725' first='Chase' last='Sullivan'] | 5'11 Smyrna

Sullivan was one of the leaders for a young Eagles team that scrapped their way to a state playoff berth. An all-around hooper who is blooming into a true point guard, he makes splash plays on defense, on and off the ball as a turnover machine. Offensively, Sullivan is unselfish and always willing to make the extra pass. The continued growth of his handle and capacity to be a primary decision-maker could be this team's x-factor. They have the potential to make some noise with him at the helm.

#23 [player_tooltip player_id='2375192' first='Kameron' last='Jackson-Dickson'] | 6'0 Dover

A reserve for the reigning state champs, Jackson-Dickson entered the Spring with a lot to prove. And he's on track to do that with Delaware Certified Hoopers 16U. With his leadership and decision-making, the stout guard gets them into their sets and distributes their arsenal of weapons in the post and on the perimeter. Jackson-Dickson also has the strength from head to toe to dish out contact on drives and absorb it when he finishes. Depending how well he does during the June Live Period, he might get the keys to a Dover team that's talented enough to repeat.
