Expert Analysis
Chad Graham | Prep Hoops Scout
Evans III followed up his state championship in football with an explosive season campaign on the court. He intercepted passes on defense and turned them into high-flying dunks. The new-age lead guard showed a ton of chops in his first season as a starter. Evans III explodes in and out of his crossovers, creating off-the-bounce to score for himself, drop the ball off to his big, or drive-and-kick to a shooter. Confident playing off-the-catch, he can knock down spot-up threes as well. His versatility and playmaking led the Blue Jays to the state quarterfinals.

At a program known for its guard play and on a team with ones more experienced than him, Evans III had the keys. The Bluejays were at their best with the ball in his hands due to his decision-making. A modern guard, Evans III’s talent getting to the cup and the range on his jumper opened up passing windows which he was more than willing to utilize.
