Chad Graham | Prep Hoops Scout
With three years of starting experience under his belt, Denis rounding out his game laid a floor under the Senators that lifted them back to the Bob. Finding consistency in his mechanics was his secret sauce, especially on his signature transition pull-up threes. When Denis wasn’t knocking down a flurry of threes, he was acutely aware as a team defender and on the glass. His fluidity and agility made him come down with offensive rebounds and cause some havoc on defense in the biggest games.

Denis was steady for a Dover team that looks the part of being the top program in the state of Delaware. Positional size, plus length, and toughness flow through their rotation and Denis spearheads the approach. He boasts a strong frame at 6-foot-5 that he knows how to use when he gets downhill and can finish layups through contact. Also showed nice touch on catch-and-shoots from the perimeter as he knocked down a few in transition flaring out to the wing as ball handlers reached the paint. He’s a versatile defensive piece who can spend time on the 1-4 at the high school level. Dover won their bracket championship as Denis averaged 11.5 points, seven rebounds and three assists per game.

Really liked the way that Denis impacted the game for his Dover squad. He made several shots from behind the arc and cannot be left open. His balanced stat line versus WiHi (MD) jumped off the page to me. Denis used his length to be in passing lanes to gather steals and shag rebounds. Denis plays with a lot of energy on both ends of the floor. He has the ability to connect with his teammates for scoring chances of their own. He would be a great get at the scholarship level, junior college level, or the prep school level.

Denis is a fluid and springy wing who can dribble, pass, and get hot with his catch-and-shoot jumper, as well as make plays as a team defender. But his best skill is his defensive rebounding which allows him to get out in transition. Less is more for Denis; so when he plays free and within himself, he makes the game look easy.

Denis was a constant and an x-factor for the Senators, in his third year on varsity and his second as a full-time starter. With his leaping ability and strong hands, the 6’5 wing likely lead the team in rebounds, which might’ve been his best contribution. His jumper was streaky at times, but when it hit, it hit big. A high-volume shooter, Denis unleashed his arsenal of side-step and pull-up threes to lift Dover in some of their biggest games.

Representing for downstate Delaware will be Dover and Denis, their junior swingman who’s already begun capturing the attention of D1 coaches. A lengthy and fluid athlete on the wing who looks like he could still add an inch or two, Denis is really effective getting out in transition as a steady threat to finish above the rim. He shoots a smooth ball in the halfcourt with a quick release off the catch. Defensively, Denis shows quick feet while using his length to pester opposing ballhandlers. Some added strength and increased ball skills could be all that’s needed for Denis to secure that elusive D1 offer.
