Keeping the ball moving and not having it stick is what keeps defenses guessing and on their toes. With this class, we have players who like to focus on just that. Here are my top playmakers for the 2026 class.
Hodge is a tall and lengthy 6’4″ shooting guard that uses that ability to see over defenses more easily than most guards could. He makes on-point passes to cutting teammates for easy layups. Hodge has tight handles which allow him to absorb double teams and hit the open man on the wing or corner. He likes to play downhill, making sure his teammates always run with him. Hodge will go to the pick-and-roll a good amount of time because of the space it can create for him.
Rosa is an explosive fast-paced guard that can play under control. He makes strong outlet passes on the fastbreak which allows his teammates to get easy points. Rosa in general just makes his teammates better with how much attention he brings to a defense. He will throw some tight window passes that most guards couldn’t do. Rosa rarely throws a bad kick out pass when in the paint along with rarely turning the ball over.
Highlights
Derkack can do everything on the court. He makes timely passes on the fastbreak fitting in tight bounce passes between multiple defenders. Derkack can draw a double team while posted up in the paint and kick it out for an open three-point shot for his teammates. He will also drive baseline to find corner shooters. Derkack is always looking to play fast while keeping the ball moving and recorded 100 assists this past season.
Smith is a multitude type of player that plays with a lot of heart and intensity. He is excellent in transition and can hit open teammates while on the run with zero issues. He likes to run the pick-and-roll action a lot to give his screener a good mismatch or take the ball up himself. Smith can post up and kick out to open shooters because of the attention he brings to a defense. He recorded 81 assists this past season.
Edgecomb likes to run the pick and pop a lot because of his excellent shooting ability. Teams are forced to press up on him which allows him to get by them with his quickness and kick out to wide-open shooters in the corner. He can make impressive long wrap-around passes when driving baseline. Edgecomb always keeps his eyes on the floor making sure his teammates keep moving the ball and not having it stick.
