Over the course of the live period, Smith played with a tremendously high motor and showcased his ability not only be a strong on ball defender and force turnovers at the POA but also be a threat on the offensive end of the floor, finishing through contact at the rim and knocking down open perimeter shots.

Smith is having another stellar all-around season at the point guard position. He has excellent playmaking ability and looks to get his teammates involved early and often to keep them ready throughout a game. Smith will not hesitate to challenge taller players at the rim as he can evade contact while in the air with his off hand to get tough layups to go around the rim. His pick-n-roll game is near perfect and looks to always set up his teammates with easy open lanes to the rim.

Smith is a player that can run the offense as well as anyone in his class pairing that along with his elite scoring ability. The 5’10” point guard is unfazed by taller players and will look to use his crafty handles to create plays for his team. He likes to work the pick-n-roll to set up his big man for easy looks at the rim. Smith is excellent in the fastbreak area as he will make very accurate full-court passes.

Smith is an all-around player who seems to have no significant weaknesses in his game. The 5’10” point guard plays bigger than he is as he will crash the glass every single time while also guarding bigger players even in the paint. He has great instincts and reactions when it comes to stripping the ball away from players. Smith will look to attack the rim whenever he can and can finish with both hands easily. He can control the midrange area throughout a game and makes smart decisions with the basketball to benefit his team for the better.

Smith is a do-it-all type of player who never stops moving and has unlimited energy throughout a game. He uses that to his advantage over tired defenders late in games. He attacks the rim with a purpose and looks to draw contact any way he can. Smith has a nice floater he will go to and can stop and hit the pull-up shot. He will post up players if he has a mismatch and can do some crafty moves to get to the rim.

Smith is like a Swiss army knife on defense meaning he will do anything to come up with a steal or stop. He never stops moving always looking to pick up whoever has the ball. His long arms allow him to trap defenders in the corners and force them to go baseline. He can shoot the passing lanes quickly leaning to more transition points for his team. Smith’s aggressiveness gives him the ability to pressure his assignment throughout an entire game.

Smith is a player that can seemingly do everything on the court. He will come out of nowhere and pick off passes in the lane at such a quick speed. Smith is great at applying pressure in halfcourt traps forcing many turnovers on inbounds plays. He has a smooth shot that seems automatic off the catch-and-shoot. Smith loves the corner three-ball and can hit the pull-up three-point shot in transition.

Smith is a multitude type of player that plays with a lot of heart and intensity. He is excellent in transition and can hit open teammates while on the run with zero issues. He likes to run the pick-and-roll action a lot to give his screener a good mismatch or take the ball up himself. Smith can post up and kick out to open shooters because of the attention he brings to a defense. He recorded 81 assists this past season.

Smith is already an elite defender that can move his feet and strip the ball away or pick off passes at a high level.
