Isaiah Cunningham Isaiah Cunningham 6'4" | SG O'Dea | 2025 State WA and Jeremiah Harshman Jeremiah Harshman 6'1" | PG Annie Wright | 2025 State WA . This was my first time seeing either in person. It was worth the trip. I saw Tahoma for the first time in person take home the fall league title with a victory over a short handed but deep Annie Wright team. I saw a freshman point guard. High school basketball practice starts Monday. Here is what my notebook has to say.
Annie Wright is a problem for years to come.
This kid looks like a natural. To me, it’s amazing how good some of these young players are. He is a prospect to watch. The game seems to come easy to him. He has that auro, whether it’s bringing the ball up the floor or getting buckets. I didn’t need to watch long before I saw the talent that will translate to the next level. His shot is pure, with perfect form and rotation. He has floor vision and IQ. He pressures the ball on defense and his hands are active. The harder he plays, the more you see it all. Annie Wright was missing their top two returning starters who were at another event. Two of the state’s best prospects. They have a deep and talented young team that will be a problem for years to come.
Lincoln has a player who is a problem.
Watching him in person, I saw a kid whose ceiling is off the chart. He didn’t have his best scoring game. He missed a couple easy ones. I saw an attitude of resilience. He was going to keep coming. He did, showing some downhill explosiveness. He’s got another gear and when he wants to go at the bucket, he goes at the bucket. A couple of those times he made nice drives to the hoop and dropped it off to his wide open teammate. He could have gotten the bucket but he was unselfish and had some nice dimes. I saw a nice mid range game, that he gets into quick. He has another level quickness. I wouldn’t want him guarding me. He is gonna get after you for 32 minutes. One of the highest ceiling players in the state.

Here is another kid with a pure looking shot. He hit several threes and some from deep. He hit a few daggers and did so with the confidence that he had been there before. He hit some tough mid range shots. He plays hard. He handles the rock. He will be the floor leader for Tahoma. A team that lost all but three varsity players from last year. They still won the Tacoma fall league championship. The cupboard is not at all bare.
He is another of the few returning players from Tacoma. Active. If I were to describe him with one word it would be active. He has a high ceiling as well with good size and athletic ability. He does a little bit of everything. He looks like an athletic player and he is. He can get hot from three as well but I was most impressed with how active he was and how active he can be. He can fill out a stat sheet.
This kid some serious talent with good size and strength. He made some great moves in the post to get buckets. He was active in the paint and rebounding. He will be a force down low for Tahoma the next two years. Solid skill set.

Mount Tahoma has a fierce competitor.
I only caught a few minutes of one of his games. I saw him play earlier last summer and wrote about his competitive nature. It turns out that I was paying attention because he was at it again. Taking it to the rack with a purpose. Playing hard and showing some leadership talking to teammates. Directing traffic. He has a solid skill set and can score from inside and out. I’m more impressed with his desire to compete. You can’t teach that.

Lincoln has a freshman point guard with talent and intangibles.
A freshman who is highly touted as an up and coming point guard. I saw just that. You might worry a freshman will struggle at times playing point guard at the varsity level. I can tell you that he is confident. He handles the ball with the confidence of a seasoned point guard. He communicates on the floor and has his head up seeing the floor well. He hit a few threes and some other buckets. He probably had 14 points. I was more impressed with his confidence and poise. He has all the intangibles and a skill set that will thrive in the next four years.
