Ryan Morgan | Prep Hoops Scout
Norman was at Lincoln (Tacoma) the last time we saw him, and after spending last season at Red Rock Academy, he returns to Washington to play with Stadium.
Even at 6’0 tall, he provides some good length at his position and showed it with his ability to cover ground and burst out of crossovers, as well as disrupting play while guarding the ball. He’s a pretty shifty guard who can attack gaps and showed some good ability to finish at the hoop under tight contests on Saturday.

He will be attending Red Rock Basketball Academy in Las Vegas after playing his freshman year at Lincoln. Here’s a kid who will make some huge strides as he continues to grow his game. He plays with a ton of confidence for his age, he wasn’t afraid to see big minutes this season at Lincoln. He handles the ball like a seasoned veteran, and can break down the defense with excellent quickness and craftiness. He is a true floor general who understands the game. He defends extremely well with his quickness. He has made improvements on his jumper, and that will get there as he continues to work. I see him as a player who has the intangibles to become a great player. He is already a good player but he will come out a great one. I have no doubts, I’ll refer back in a few years. He has the dawg in him as well, which is a big part of it.

A freshman stepping into a 3A varsity lineup to start the season on a good team is tough to do. He has done a great job. He has come up with some big baskets, including a couple of threes against Mount Tahoma in a win. He hit one at the half time buzzer that was from way out. He caught it and put it up quickly at the horn and found nothing but net. He handles the ball well vs pressure and doesn’t look phased by any of it. He knows where to be on the floor and who to get the ball to. He reads and reacts well to make plays, with some solid drives to the hoop and dishing to teammates for open looks. He is proving that he belongs on a young team that is off to a great start.

A freshman point guard with all the tools to turn himself into a great player. He plays with no fear and will get a lot of minutes as likely the first guard off the bench. He has good handles and reads the defense well, which results in him being able to create for himself and his teammates. He has a high ceiling for the next four years and is a player to watch.

A freshman who is highly touted as an up and coming point guard. I saw just that. You might worry a freshman will struggle at times playing point guard at the varsity level. I can tell you that he is confident. He handles the ball with the confidence of a seasoned point guard. He communicates on the floor and has his head up seeing the floor well. He hit a few threes and some other buckets. He probably had 14 points. I was more impressed with his confidence and poise. He has all the intangibles and a skill set that will thrive in the next four years.

He’s just a freshman but he brings a wealth of potential. A true point guard who understands the game and can distribute the ball to the right people. A lefty who is also crafty when he gets going downhill. He shows no fear, and although he may take his lumps as any freshman does, he will keep coming. He’s a young kid, waiting for his body to catch up to his game, in the meantime, he will be fine playing with the big boys.

Norman was one of the younger, smaller players attending the expo but he showed impressive confidence with the ball, making good decisions and displaying an overall calm demeanor. He’s super quick and has a nice cross he went to repeatedly. The lefty definitely has some high potential hidden in there and is one to watch as his high school career goes on.
