Marley was dominating all game in the matchup I was able to catch. The 6’3” junior has all the tools to be an elite all-around player with the combination of his size, skill, and shot making ability. He also has great instincts and was constantly taking advantage of what the defense was giving him. Baah-Yeboah was able to knock down a plethora of shots from beyond the arc with the majority of them coming off of the dribble. He also showed off his athleticism with a two-handed throw down on a baseline drive. Marley looks to be one of most improved players in the state and is on pace to have a monster junior season with Lakeville South.

Hudson was making his presence known in all facets of the game this Saturday. He did a lot of his scoring work in transition, throwing down dunks just about every time he touched the ball. He also really impressed me with his ability to make some tough shots off the dribble, making one move then getting to his spot and getting a clean look off. Vaith was a standout on the defensive end as well, picking up several blocks, steals, and tipped passes. The Lakeville North senior will be a key piece of a Panther squad looking to make a run at a state championship this March.

Kole was the best shot maker I saw all day. The junior guard has one of the quickest jump shots I’ve seen and was hitting deep threes all game. He was not just scoring from the perimeter, but also used a combination of moves to blow by his defender and cap it off with some tough finishes around the rim. He is also very twitchy and was leaving defenders in the dust all game. Hanson recently transferred to Holy Family this season and is a large part of why they are preseason favorites in Class AA. I am excited to see how he will mesh with Butler commit Boden Kapke Boden Kapke 6’11” | C Holy Family | 2023 State #153 Nation MN as one of top guard-forward duos in the state.

Cash was showing out all day on Saturday. The nationally ranked junior was unstoppable in transition and his athleticism was on full display. He rose up for a multitude of different dunks and was leaving his opponents with no answer. He is so good when finishing in transition as he has some of the best body control I’ve ever seen with the way he can contort his body to avoid being blocked by a defender. The 6’4” guard’s perimeter game has also improved a lot compared to last year, but he was taking over getting to the basket. Chavis will be a top option for the state contending Pirates looking to go back-to-back. Park Center will be one of the most electrifying teams to watch in the state this upcoming season for sure.

Baiden has impressed me every time I’ve seen him play since the spring and that continued this weekend. He is extremely unpredictable when he has the ball in his possession and is constantly leaving defenders guessing. He is very quick and specialized in transition this Saturday, where he could take it himself all the way to the rim or dish it off to a teammate for an easy look. The senior guard also knocked down some shots from the outside off the dribble, as well as in the catch-and-shoot. Bean will lead a Farmington team this season that has great potential.
Highlights
Kyle is the epitome of a player that can do it all. The 6’8” forward can handle the ball like a guard along with having excellent passing vision. He is also a knockdown shooter from the outside, being able to connect with shots in the catch-and-shoot and having the ability to create shots for himself off the dribble. Jorgensen was the tallest player on the floor in the matchup I saw and he dominated the paint area the entire game. He blocked several shot attempts and was a force to be reckoned with on the boards, grabbing every rebound in sight. The Washburn junior looks to be getting better and better every time I see him play.
The two aspects of Anthony’s game that really stood out to me was his confidence and how fluid he looked with the ball in his hands. He is super shifty when handling the ball and makes it very tough for the defense with being an elite shot creator as well. He was also making opposing ball handlers lives very hard with constantly poking balls free and deflecting passes. I am excited to see the underclassmen guard duo of Smith and Jayden Moore Jayden Moore 6’0″ | PG Hopkins | 2026 State MN this upcoming season where they will be leaned upon to be the scoring leaders for a Hopkins team that will lose four of their five starters from last year.
