Shunmugavelu is a man child whose frame eats up precious space underneath on both ends of the floor. He has soft feet and soft hands which allow him to move effortlessly around paint on the offensive end. He doesn’t try to overdo it and does a great job of staying within himself. He is a brick wall screener who if he screens you good lucking battling through it. Shunmugavelu has a great grasp of playing the two-man game in the half court. His ability to see ball and his man at all times on the defensive end is one of his most underrated strengths in his game. His play was a big reason why Minnesota Fury was able to get two huge wins to win The Prep Hoops Open Championship.

Tommy turned in a solid weekend with Fury, looking much more versatile as a player since the last time I saw him. As usual, he was a difference maker inside with his interior defense and rebounding, also converting on some layups off the catch. I was impressed with how he was running in transition, which resulted in scores, including a one-handed dunk.

Thomas was one of the most dominant rebounders in attendance this weekend. He’s a strong and physical 6’5 forward who excels at clearing out space with a box out, and secures everything with two hands. Once he gets a hand on the ball, he’s not giving up possession, as he’s going to chin it and rip to clear out space before locating an outlet. In the half-court his strength allows him to get deep position on the block for post-up looks, and he’s so good out of the pick & roll. Showed great hands and coordination to catch in traffic and power his way up to finish in a crowd.
