Pierless turned in a nice performance in an overtime win on Sunday, making a lot of winning plays. He started the game off hot scoring, driving to the basket in transition for a contested finish and knocking down a triple off the catch. He was a consistent scorer and facilitator for his team, making smart plays which resulted in open shot attempts for he and his teammates. Davis also brought energy and effort on the defensive end.

Pierless had his D1 Minnesota Gold team in it until the very end with Wisconsin PHD on Sunday morning. The lefty guard just found ways to get to the rim, and once there proved to be an efficient finisher. He could attack off a straight line drive, was cutting hard without the ball, and sprinted the floor for some transition looks. Does a really nice job of playing off of two feet, which allowed him to gather his balance and go up to finish through contact. Had a number of chances where he took a bump to the shoulder, but kept his chin at the rim and was able to finish.

I’m not sure if there’s a team with a deeper group of guards in the state than Champlin Park.

looks to be growing in confidence, and had a nice showing in a win over Farmington during the final game of the day. The 2026 lefty was getting into the lane for finishes off two feet, and showed his shooting touch from mid-range and three. Really like the pace he plays with, just floating with the ball at times, and freezing his defender before making a move. He looks to be dangerous out of the pick & roll as he showed the vision to hit his bigs on the move, or pull-up for three if his man went under.

Pierless was a major contributor offensively for his team on Saturday, finding success with the ball in his hands. He did most of his scoring in transition opportunities, being able to convert with defenders in his way. He did a great job of running the floor to put himself in good positions for passes from teammates for easy baskets. He also picked up a handful of assists, showing off his advanced vision for his age.

The lefty guard was making an impact with his jumper in his first game on Sunday afternoon. Now at 6’2 he has some size out on the wing, and showcased a smooth jumper that was falling off the catch or dribble. Showed some poise reading the closeout and knowing whether he could get off a clean look, or take one/two dribbles into a pull-up jumper. One of a handful of talented young prospects coming up at Champlin Park.

I really liked what Pierless brought to the table as a facilitator in the one matchup I saw on Sunday. He played the point guard role at times for his team and displayed his reliable ball handling. He was getting his teammates involved in a variety of ways, whether it was long passes to create transition opportunities, kick out passes following drives inside, or backdoor passes to cutting teammates.

Davis a five-foot-seven-inch Guard that will attend Totino Grace set-up and ran offense with relative ease assisting on three baskets. Davis also showed a aggressive streak a few times taking the ball coast-to-coast for a score and driving against defenders for lay-ups. Once by his defender Davis didn’t settle for short jumpers, he finished the play strong.

This was my second time seeing Pierless play this summer and one attribute of his game continues to stand out to me the most. That would be his feel for the game. He just looks so much more mature than everyone else when he has the ball in hands and it seemed that he was always making the right plays with his decision making and precise passes. He also did a great job attacking the rim and was able to finish with either hand even with some traffic in his way. Davis will join the deep pool of young talent in the Totino-Grace system this year.
