A point guard who has played in a ton of big games, Turner is a guy every diehard basketball fan in Ohio knows about. Turner showed his adaptability as a table setter as a Sophomore and Junior then turning into more of a scorer as a senior after the Tigers graduated a ton of talented seniors. Turner has good touch on his shots and takes care of the basketball. A kid who also rises to the moment, Turner won’t be afraid of the bright lights at the next level. Receiving interest from a variety of levels, Division II, NAIA and Division III programs have shown interest in the Pick Central floor general.

Turner is the head of a very young and talented Pickerington Central team this year and his veteran leadership is something the Tigers will lean on heavily. He provided it for them in their big-time win over Akron STVM. He was calm and controlled the game. He is an elite passer and always makes the right pass. He is a shorter guard but has a good strong body that lets him use contact to his advantage. He was getting where he wanted on the court and was dishing it to his teammates in the right spots. Turner is going to need to play well for the Tigers to have a good season, I believe he will and he shows he is ready for it Saturday.

When you watch scrimmage basketball there’s lots of sloppy play and teams trying to find themselves with new pieces. Turner has been a lead guard for a Pickerington Central squad that’s made back-to-back state championship games with Turner making big plays. That experience was on full display on Saturday as Turner was knocking down shots efficiently and playing at his own pace. Combine that with some impressive on ball defense and there were few prospects more impactful on Saturday than Turner.

Turner was one week removed from a solid outing at the state tournament with Pickerington Central and his poise and control from the point guard position were obvious at an individual showcase. Turner plays with good pace and made some really impressive passes on Saturday morning. After knocking down a handful of 3’s in the state tournament, Turner was back at it again making shots from the outside. I expect Turner to get interest from a variety of levels this spring and summer, he’s been one of the more productive guards in central Ohio over the past year.

Nobody hit bigger shots from the outside on Saturday evening than Turner, who was a perfect 4/4 from 3-point range. An ankle breaker crossover got him open for one in the first half and Turner again had ice in his veins when he nailed another clutch 3-pointer to break a 50-50 tie with about a minute to play. Turner’s point guard skills came in handy but it was his shot-making from the outside that was crucial to a Tigers victory.

Turner really impressed me at the All-Ohio Preview. Turner seems to have put some weight on and it showed by how he plays. He was already a shorter stocky point guard but he now just simply got his spots without much resistance. Got to the rim easily and hit multiple midrange pull-ups. Plays with great handle and pace. He showed a very good aggressiveness that he did not have last year that I’m excited to see him continue.
