In November we will be back on the hardwood playing games. We wanted to give you a look at the top players in each region. No better way to do that with our Preseason All-Area Teams! Today we look at the Chicago Public League!

G – [player_tooltip player_id='2323675' first='Mikey' last='Woods'] (Perspectives)

Woods transferred into Perspectives after spending the last couple of seasons in Indiana after breaking out in state as a freshman. Woods appears to be primed for a big senior season as he has grown and become more of a well-rounded player. The CPS is looking for a star. Could Woods be it?

G – [player_tooltip player_id='2125641' first='Jamier' last='Montgomery'] (Crane)

Montgomery had a big summer with Crane showcasing he is a D1 prospect. The senior guard brings a wiry frame and creative handles to the table. Can get his pull up shot off with ease, is super competitive, and gets after it on defense turning steals into points.

G – [player_tooltip player_id='2886496' first='TJ' last='Jamison'] (Whitney Young)

Jamison is a jumbo sophomore combo guard for the Dolphins who at 6'4” has elite positional size. Feathery jump shot that he knocks down at a nice clip. With Marquis Clark's graduation Jamison moves into the go to player for the Dolphins as a sophomore.

F - [player_tooltip player_id='2323622' first='Damari' last='Stephens'] (Kenwood)

Stephens is a thick body wing that has nimble footwork on his drives along with being able to use brute force finishing through opponents on straight line takes. Underrated shooter that rebounds. Will be among the more productive CPS players this year.

C – [player_tooltip player_id='2433704' first='Oliver' last='Kerrigan'] (Whitney Young)

There is a real lack of big men in the CPS. Kerrigan was one of the best we saw from the city during the summer as he anchored the Dolphins interior with rebounding, athleticism, and scoring in the paint.

Bench – [player_tooltip player_id='2532341' first='Keyae' last='Lacy'] (Simeon)

Look for Lacy to have a massive senior season. He is coming off a great summer with Geek Squad where he was the alpha which he will be this year for Simeon. Ton of juice with the rock in his hands as a creator off the bounce along with being a solid shooter.

Bench – [player_tooltip player_id='1874813' first='Jayden' last='Taylor'] (Perspectives)

Taylor has steadily improved throughout the course of his career and now is his time to shine playing in perhaps the best backcourt in the CPS with Woods. Quick twitched athlete that has a ton of juice with the rock pushing in the open floor and being a capable shooter.

Bench – [player_tooltip player_id='2947403' first='Orlando' last='Bohlen'] (Walter Payton)

The 2029 guard is a plus perimeter shot maker with length. Good athlete that excels moving without the ball to get open knocking down threes off the catch at a super high rate. Love his feel, pace, and has greatly improved his handles over the last year.

Bench – [player_tooltip player_id='3427173' first='Jordan' last='Wordlaw'] (Dunbar)

Wordlaw is a strong bodied wing that has flown under the radar during his career, but kid has game! Powerful small forward who can get to the cup with tight handles and functional athleticism. Rebounds well for his position and has a capable jumper.

Bench – Alvin Robinson (Lincoln Park)

Its Robinson's time now at Lincoln Park. He has the pieces around him for this team to be successful and he will be the player that can take them to the next level. Broad shouldered and bouncy wing that is an impactful player on both ends of the floor.

Bench – [player_tooltip player_id='2422347' first='Darrin' last='Laye Jr.'] (Marshall)

Laye took his team to Champaign last year as a sophomore and now has the target on his back heading into his junior campaign. Laye and his Marshall squad are ready with a ton of returning talent. This is the player that makes everything go!

Bench – [player_tooltip player_id='2915584' first='DK' last='Heard'] (King)

King is a late addition to this group after he transferred over to King from Mt. Carmel. The #2 sophomore in the state brings a ton of talent with his broad shoulders, long arms, and wiry athleticism. High-motor player who gives an already intriguing King squad star power!
