What Catholic League Players Make Preseason All-Area Team?

Carmel)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The state's top sophomore is part of a three guard starting lineup for the CCL.&nbsp; Johnson is a combo guard who is effective playing both on and off the ball.&nbsp; Super high ceiling with his stat sheet stuffing, three level scoring, and defending either backcourt spot at a high level.<br><br><strong>G – [player_tooltip player_id='2323617' first='Markese' last='Peoples'] (St. Laurence)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Peoples will be among the most productive players in the state this season.&nbsp; The Central Michigan commit is a bowling ball with the rock in his hands as he can overpower opponents and is an ELITE finisher with his craftiness around the cup.&nbsp; Peoples is probably the best rebounding guard in the state and a high level decision maker and passer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>G – [player_tooltip player_id='2531962' first='Amir' last='Tucker'] (St. Ignatius)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Tucker got a ton of great experience a year ago for Iggy including taking over a ton of games as a sophomore.&nbsp; This season it is clearly his team as he has the keys to drive a team that has Champaign aspirations.&nbsp; Lengthy point guard is a sound shot maker, makes quality decisions as a passer, and knows how to elevate those around him.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>PF – [player_tooltip player_id='2125658' first='Kendall' last='Meyers'] (Marist)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Meyers will be one of the better post players in the state as he is the only returner from the state champion starting lineup of Marist.&nbsp; Strong frame with a versatile inside and out game.&nbsp; Feathery touch on the jumper and can handle it facing up.&nbsp; Playmaking instincts as a passer along with touch around the cup.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>C – [player_tooltip player_id='2323620' first='Ed' last='Stasys'] (Benet)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Stasys sits at #1 overall in the senior rankings after the way he played over the summer.&nbsp; The Benet post is a broad shouldered big man that rebounds at an elite level.&nbsp; Snatches them in and out of his area.&nbsp; Will go from a secondary option for Benet a year ago to the top dog.&nbsp; He is ready with a refined offensive game along with being a defensive anchor inside.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Bench – [player_tooltip player_id='2425956' first='Perry' last='Tchiegne'] (Benet)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of my favorite players over the last few years will now get to show fans what we have been raving about.&nbsp; Long and lanky southpaw is such an advanced playmaker, defender, and stat sheet stuffer.&nbsp; Slick takes to the rim along with being a good rebounder for a guard.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Bench – [player_tooltip player_id='2403910' first='Logan' last='Wessel'] (Mt. Carmel)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Wessel has taken his game to new heights over the last year.&nbsp; He has always been a plus three point shooter but it is growth as an athlete and driver which has opened up so many more avenues for him to impact.&nbsp; Wing that rebounds and is a solid defensive prospect.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Bench – [player_tooltip player_id='2842573' first='Blake' last='Choice'] (DePaul Prep)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Choice has a long and lanky build as a combo guard who is stepping into the go to role for the Rams.&nbsp; Showcased that he is ready to be that guy in the summer consistently getting buckets at a high level with his pull up game and slithery handles.&nbsp; Can get others involved with his passing.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Bench – [player_tooltip player_id='2632058' first='Karon' last='Shavers'] (Leo)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There are a number of Leo guards that could be on this list, but we gave the nod to Shavers.&nbsp; Tough as nails guard with physicality and Chicago toughness.&nbsp; Defends all over the floor along with being a downhill slasher.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Bench – [player_tooltip player_id='2425702' first='Magnus' last='Johnson'] (DePaul Prep)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Johnson was a key player for DePaul Prep last season in their primary six man rotation.&nbsp; He steps into Porter's role as the primary big man for the Rams now.&nbsp; Athletic five man that is a good rebounder who has flashed skill improvement.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Bench – [player_tooltip player_id='2632084' first='Daniel' last='Salkauskas'] (Brother Rice)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Salkauskas could emerge as the best junior post in the Catholic League.&nbsp; He showed that kind of talent in spurts over the summer as a face up four who can stretch with his shooting knocking in feathery jumpers while also handling it from the high-post and rebounds pretty well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Bench – [player_tooltip player_id='2437108' first='Omar' last='Ajanovic'] (St. Patrick)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Do not forget about this St. Patrick big man!&nbsp; Ajanovic has been around for a while and made strides with the Shamrocks in June.&nbsp; Strong bodied five that is extremely efficient with his paint touches and is a good rebounder.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
