Trainers Collective Camp: 2027 Highly Ranked Uncommitted Shine

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Trainers Collective Camp, hosted by (Sam Franklin, Stanley Boateng, Nick Wunschl, and Jordan Newman), brought together some of the area's top young talent for a unique mini-camp and showcase. The event gave these talented trainers an opportunity to work directly with some of their top clients while putting their teaching on display in a competitive setting. The camp featured plenty of skilled players, and the 2027 class was particularly well represented. Here are some of the standouts who caught our attention.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2839879' first='Timmy' last='Sloan'] | Lyons</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sloan continues to show why his combination of size and skill makes him an intriguing prospect at the next level. The 6-foot-5 wing is a three-level scoring threat who can make plays from multiple areas of the floor. Sloan has some sneaky bounce to his game and can elevate around the basket, while also showing the ability to create opportunities for teammates. His size, scoring versatility, and playmaking ability give him an intriguing college-level profile.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2125682' first='Sean' last='Reese'] | Glenbard South</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Reese has established himself as a phenomenal perimeter shooter, but this setting provided a better look at the other areas of his offensive game. He was effective attacking off the bounce and showed improved comfort creating his own shot. Reese also demonstrated the ability to distribute and finish when he got into the paint. The shooting remains a major strength, but his ability to create off the dribble adds another dimension to his game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2455373' first='Oturo' last='Redento'] | Glenbard North</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Redento is a smooth 6-foot-6 wing with good length, feel, and more athleticism than he sometimes gets credit for. He has a sneaky handle and can beat defenders with a quick first step, allowing him to get downhill without needing much space. Redento also showed the ability to grab a rebound and push the ball coast-to-coast. His passing flashes and overall skill level make him an intriguing versatile wing prospect.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2125660' first='Lamari' last='Carpenter'] | Glenbard North</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It is always valuable to see players with college offers compete in an open setting, and Carpenter made the most of the opportunity. He looked comfortable attacking the basket and used his handle to create separation from defenders. Carpenter also showed a good feel for getting into his mid-range game, where he can create pull-up opportunities. He consistently found ways to get comfortable looks from behind the arc and knocked down shots from different spots on the floor. Woods has the type of shooting ability that can quickly change a game when he gets into a rhythm. His perimeter shot continues to be a major weapon.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2907626' first='Ryland' last='Anyimadu'] | Plainfield East</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Anyimadu is an undersized post player who brings plenty of physicality and touch to the interior. With an opportunity for a larger role at Plainfield East, he will have a chance to continue showcasing his ability to produce around the basket. Anyimadu plays with power and has impressive touch finishing around the rim, including against taller defenders. His physical style and interior scoring ability make him an interesting player to monitor moving forward.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Jeffrey Hassan | La Lumiere</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hassan provided another look at the tools that make him an intriguing interior prospect before heading to La Lumiere. The 6-foot-9 big man has continued to improve his mobility and handle, giving him more versatility offensively. Around the basket, Hassan showed improved comfort scoring with drop-step moves and his jump hook. His combination of size, developing mobility, and interior skill gives him plenty to work with at the next level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2125688' first='Tray' last='Alford'] | Oswego</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Alford was one of the most impactful guards in the gym, consistently getting into the paint and creating opportunities for those around him. He did a nice job controlling the game with his ability to generate paint touches while also making the right reads as a passer. Alford was also effective as a scorer and shot the ball well throughout the day. His ability to seamlessly transition between scoring and distributing made him a standout among the guards.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2426052' first='Cormac' last='Hanus'] | Benet</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hanus brings good size to the wing at 6-foot-6 and has already established himself as a legitimate perimeter shooting threat. At this event, however, he showed encouraging development as a creator. Hanus looked more comfortable putting the ball on the floor and creating opportunities off the dribble. He also competed hard throughout the open-gym setting, bringing a physical edge to his performance.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2125616' first='Donavyn' last='Simmons'] | Romeoville</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Simmons continues to put together strong showings and has become an increasingly intriguing prospect to follow. His explosiveness immediately stands out, particularly when he gets downhill and attacks the paint. Simmons was able to consistently create advantages off the bounce, finish through traffic, and make good reads while moving downhill. His combination of athleticism, attacking ability, and decision-making gives him the profile of a potential Division II gem with the upside to attract Division I attention.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2125608' first='Dawson' last='Charles'] | St. Viator</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Dawson put together a strong showing, making quality reads throughout the day while playing with good pace. He showed a strong feel for the game and consistently made the right decisions with the ball in his hands.
