About Sean
Expert Analysis
Joshua Burish | Prep Hoops Scout
Reese made his presence felt on both ends with a steady, high-IQ performance against Mike Glennon Elite . He attacked drives with the willingness to take on contact and stayed active off- ball, working screens and never standing still within the offense.
Defensively, he showed good vision and communication, talking through actions while maintaining solid lateral slide to stay in front. He also created disruption, including forcing a jump ball with active defensive positioning. On the glass, Reese extended possessions with offensive rebounds and second-effort plays. Offensively, he can also operate as a post-up option at times, adding versatility to his game.
On a Breakaway Gold Team filled with talent, Reese stands out as a seamless fit who impacts winning on both ends.

Reese is the go to player for Glenbard South. The 6’0” junior guard is also a plus shooter as he drained a trio of them with smooth mechanics. Showed solid passing on the move throughout the game while scoring 9 points.

An athletic, high-motor combo guard from Chicago West Suburbs who’s quickly becoming a key piece for Glenbard South. A true do-it-all presence, Reese consistently finds ways to impact the game—always around the ball and rarely taking a play off.
Offensively, he does most of his damage inside the paint, using his quickness and strength to finish through traffic. He’s also capable of knocking down the three when left open, keeping defenders honest. Reese’s energy stands out, especially on the boards, where he contributes significantly as a guard and generates valuable second-chance opportunities.
Defensively, he flies around the court, showing his ability to disrupt plays, contest shots, and rotate effectively. While his shot selection and decision-making are still developing, he’s showing clear signs of rounding into a well-rounded, two-way contributor with a bright future.

Sean Reese proved to be a competitive defender who locks up in both halfcourt and full-court situations. Reese played with a knack for creating havoc on the court Whether it’s stripping the ball from dribblers, jumping into passing lanes for steals, or deflecting passes and dribbles, he forced countless turnovers and disrupted the rhythm of the opposing offense play after play. One of his biggest standout qualities as a defender was his ability to contest every shot, even attempts that seem out of his range, displaying the awareness and quick reaction to close out on shooters rapidly, often making up ground with his speed and length.

A strong and physical player, Sean used his physicality to effect the game. He hustled for many rebounds, was good at boxing out and even ripped the ball from opposing players to get a rebound. Used his strength to take contact when driving in the paint and fighting for rebounds. He was active in attempting to get loose balls. He finished strong at the rim and wasn’t afraid to take the three and knock down some jumpers.

I first saw Reese at last year’s Freshman Showcase and continued to catch him throughout the grassroots season. He effectively uses a reverse move around the rim to avoid defenders. While he’s a strong driver, he needs to work on his ball and body control. Reese has a good-looking shot from distance and a natural ability to play physically with a strong nose for the ball.
