Top Playmakers in CHSAA AA 2026-2027

The Royals got a breakout Junior season from Magna and he now enters his final year for CTK. His expectations are sky high for the LaSalle commit but he's ready. Magna is a tremendous playmaker, a serious scorer, a premier defender and a stat stuffer. He has a great chance to win MVP of the CHSAA especially if he can help lead his team all the way this year.      Head Coach Gary Ervin did a masterful job of developing Narcisse on the lower level before bringing up him up late last season. He's a super quick guard who likes to attack the basket, hit tough shots and create offense. His confidence is now sky high, he should have an even bigger role for his Sophomore campaign and expect him to be one of the top playmakers in the CHSAA this winter. Keep buying stock in Narcisse because Nazareth has an emerging star.     Miller became a star during the playoffs during his freshman season last year. He's an extremely elusive decision maker who's a tough cover and already has a big time basketball IQ. The outstanding sophomore has a chance to lead the CHSAA in assists, he continues to grow under Head Coach Billy Turnage and he hasn't even scratched the surface of his potential. When his consistency and physical maturity catches up with the rest of his game everyone better watch out.      Elor quietly had a great debut on varsity last year averaging over 10 points a game as a Sophomore. He has followed it up with a strong spring, his performances at Iona Prep team camp were impressive and he looks a potential All CHSAA selection. His athleticism is off the charts, he's confidence, slick around the basket and has full grasp of the offense. The numbers should increase, his role will expand and Elor certainly looks like the future for the Stanners.      McLaren is built like Russell Westbrook and stuffs the stat sheet the same way. He's a young physical guard who creates contact, he can score from all three levels and consistently makes others around him better. His game continues to evolve, he loves to compete, he has passion for the game and is still an ascending prospect. This rising Junior has a chance to help push Scanlan to the next level season and see if they can build on their deep run from last season.      Lopez has put together two really strong seasons already for Mount and is ramping up for a massive Junior campaign. He has already earned a few Division 1 offers and interest but expect his recruitment to take off. His shot making keeps improving, he's more connected on defense, he's communicating more and holding his teammates accountable. The coaches at Mount fully trust their floor general to keep this offense humming and if their core can keep growing expect Lopez to be on All CHSAA watch.     The three time champs won their fourth straight CHSAA title last season. While the entire core and starting lineup is gone there's still plenty of hope in White Plains. A big reason why is Archevald who got great experience last year . He's a smart playmaker who can run the offense, get others involved and isn't afraid to take the big shot. His game continues to grow, he's getting more comfortable with Head Coach Pat Massaroni and league better watch out or he will get the Crusaders right back to the finals.      While Almodovar may not put up high scoring numbers he arguably is the best pure point guard in New York City. He flipped the switch last season and instead of worrying about points or shots he just focused on the offense. His decision making picked up, he became unselfish, he's a leader and Hayes has really benefitted. The team has taken the next step under Almodovar and this year he will look to help the Cardinals win a championship. Many also could argue he's one of the top perimeter defenders as well.
