Johnny has already committed to the Explores from LaSalle university. He was an integral part of getting CTK the BQ title. He averaged 17 ppg. He has a high basketball IQ. Can play either guard spot and has really good size for the position. He has an elusive handle. He is able to get to his spots. Has deep range and a really nice mid range game. Excellent rebounder from the guard spot.

CTK would leave on the wrong end of an upset with a narrow loss to Scanlan, but by no fault of their all-league junior guard. Magna simply refused to go down without a fight, dragging the Royals back into the game from nearly 20 points down. He was absolutely relentless attacking the paint off the dribble, converting a perfect 15-for-15 at the foul line in just the second half alone. His competitiveness, playmaking ability, and nose for the ball parlayed into a dynamic 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists to close out his junior season. He’ll likely need to reign things in a bit at the next level from a decisionmaking standpoint but brings the type of aggression and competitive fire that La Salle values heavily under its current staff.

Lasalle did it like schools did it years ago you like a player you sign him and then got a really good one in Johnny. Very smooth. Excellent handle. Great court vision and awareness. Poised and in control. Made some tough contested baskets. Scores from all three levels. Really like his mid range pull up game.

Entering the game off the bench alongside Charlot, Magna was successful in helping shift the momentum with his aggressiveness attacking the paint. He thrived playing in a utility guard role alongside a true point, placing less of an emphasis on his facilitating and allowing him to attack gaps consistently before making plays from middle of the lane for himself or teammates. He’ll have to open up the floor more as a shooter in this role at the next level, but it’s a nice skillset to have in his back pocket as more teams continue to value size and versatility from the backcourt in place of a traditional lead guard.
