The afternoon session at the UIC Team Camp featured a strong mix of established names and emerging prospects who elevated their stock with productive performances on both ends of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2403910' first='Logan' last='Wessel'] (Mount Carmel - 2027)

Wessel started the game with plenty of heat, lighting a quick fuse by knocking down a pair of triples before picking a pocket in the backcourt and flushing it home. For the remainder of the contest, he played with trademark toughness, crashing the glass for aggressive rebounds and anchoring the defense with excellent positioning in the paint to force difficult shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2767906' first='Ronald' last='Johnson'] (Mount Carmel - 2029)

It took a little time for Johnson to get going, but he found his rhythm in a hurry. He knocked down a wing three, then followed it up with a slick up-and-under move playing off two feet in the lane. He showed off excellent rebounding instincts from the guard slot and plays with a highly controlled, even-keeled demeanor. He does a great job of hunting and finding his spots on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323622' first='Damari' last='Stephens'] (Kenwood - 2027)

Stephens is a thick-bodied guard who consistently got to the basket by utilizing spin moves and backing down defenders on his way to the hoop. He converted a couple of tough bank shots en route to a highly productive, typical scoring performance.

[player_tooltip player_id='2384522' first='Elijah' last='Shim'] (Kenwood - 2028)

The 6-foot-8 athletic big man made a massive impact on the game, changing momentum with emphatic lob dunks and showcasing rare perimeter mobility by blocking shots out at the three-point line. What makes him so intriguing is his ability to high-point the basketball and his rapidly improving footwork. He protected the paint at a high level using his length to rack up a handful of blocks.

Mikey Woods (Don Bosco - 2027)

A familiar face who was one of the first local prospects to leave the state for the prep route, Woods has grown into a lethal 6-foot guard who keeps the ball on a string. He made a major impact by shooting the cover off the ball from college range and displaying sharp vision as a passer on the move. Woods excels at creating space, scoring from all three levels, and keeping defenders guessing with an elite change of pace.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323617' first='Markese' last='Peoples'] (St. Laurence - 2027)

In the latest installment of the Peoples show, the dynamic guard struggled early against Don Bosco before eventually finding room to operate and score at the rim. In the second contest, he was aggressive right from the opening tip, racking up numerous dunks and high-level finishes. His performance at UIC is just another feather in the cap of a big summer.

Jamar Thomas Jr. (Don Bosco - 2027)

Thomas is a 6-foot-6 mid-post scorer who projects cleanly into a 3/4 hybrid role at the next level. He plays with great patience, getting to his sweet spots to score off fades and step-through finishes. While he possesses the ability to stretch the floor from three, his handle is more than strong enough to get downhill and finish through contact at a high college-ready level.

[player_tooltip player_id='2385372' first='Noah' last='Corro'] (St. Laurence - 2028)

Corro was absolutely balling in the second contest against Catholic League rival Brother Rice. The point guard managed the game beautifully in space, pushing the tempo and dropping dimes while on the move. He was at his absolute best shooting the rock, playing with immense confidence and burying several deep, college-range threes because he was simply feeling it.

[player_tooltip player_id='3427173' first='Jordan' last='Wordlaw'] (Dunbar - 2027)

A bouncy 6-foot-5 wing who first made a name for himself with highlight-reel dunks, Wordlaw continues to show a soft touch on his jumper and an improved playmaker identity from the perimeter. While he grabbed the gym's attention with an explosive flush, he was most effective getting to his mid-range pull-up. He remains firmly under the radar despite stringing together multiple massive scoring outputs during his junior season.

Additional Contributors

[player_tooltip player_id='2915584' first='DK' last='Heard'] (Mount Carmel - 2029)

Kevin Salkauskas (Brother Rice - 2027)

[player_tooltip player_id='2381426' first='Trent' last='Williams'] (OPRF - 2028)

[player_tooltip player_id='3427287' first='Aiden' last='Henderson'] (Brother Rice - 2027)

[player_tooltip player_id='2877491' first='Marshaun' last='Thornton'] (Mount Carmel - 2028)

[player_tooltip player_id='3658711' first='Keshon' last='Owens'] (Kenwood - 2027)

AJ Enyia (St. Laurence - 2027)

[player_tooltip player_id='3625295' first='Colby' last='Irvin'] (Kenwood - 2028)

[player_tooltip player_id='2750036' first='Rickey' last='Woods'] Jr. (Rockford Guilford - 2027)
