The month of June is an important one for high school basketball as returning players come back to their high school programs from club basketball to start getting ready for next season. It's also a time that's interesting in that players who are looking to transfer schools will suit up for their new teams and get accustomed to new teammates and systems of play. While there's no guarantee these players will definitely attend and play at these new destinations in the fall - it's only official once school starts - but it is an indication of what's to come for next season.

We certainly aren't looking to glamorize nor demonize what's now known as the "high school transfer portal" but it is a fact of life in prep sports these days and we do want all to stay up to date with what's going on in the basketball scene. That said, here are some of the top transfers from the Class of 2027 that we have either seen or were made aware of so far this month (please let us know if you know of any others).

[player_tooltip player_id='2124993' first='Rogen' last='Brown'] - Mountainside to Southridge
[player_tooltip player_id='2964949' first='Jaden' last='Burnham'] - Centennial to Reynolds
[player_tooltip player_id='' first='Muhammed' last='Carter'] - Wells to Tualatin
[player_tooltip player_id='2737295' first='Andrew' last='Darrington'] - Glencoe to Westside Christian
[player_tooltip player_id='2313999' first='Cooper' last='Day'] - Nelson to Clackamas
[player_tooltip player_id='2479605' first='Doug' last='Green'] - Pleasant Hill to Thurston
[player_tooltip player_id='2421603' first='Eli' last='Hopkins'] - Oregon City to Southridge
[player_tooltip player_id='2165680' first='Tayshawn' last='Juarez'] - Sprague to West Salem
[player_tooltip player_id='2132780' first='Alex' last='Lugo'] - Milwaukie to Clackamas
[player_tooltip player_id='1747849' first='Elijah' last='Schmidt'] - Sprague to West Salem
[player_tooltip player_id='2026063' first='Alarion' last='Scott'] - Oregon City to Centennial
[player_tooltip player_id='2534844' first='Enzo' last='Yamashita'] - Milwaukie to Clackamas

Analysis: From the sheer numbers, it certainly appears that Clackamas and Southridge reloaded after losing some key seniors from last season. Clackamas will continue to be deep at guard with the additions of Lugo and Day and Yamashita will help fill in with his size and athleticism inside. Southridge adds offensive firepower with Brown moving from just down the street and Hopkins is one of the top players in the senior class. Carter is one of the most potential-laden players in the entire state and he immediately boosts the post play on both ends for the defending champs and Scott adds size and athleticism to a Centennial team looking to take the next step. Burnham will immediately help a Reynolds squad as will Darrington at Westside Christian, and West Salem gains an immediate backcourt with Schmidt and Juarez coming over from Sprague. Green is an intriguing prospect who has the size and skill set to adjust to moving up to the 5A level at Thurston.
