Purdue Shootout (6/11) – Ramsey’s Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For the second time this month Prep Hoops Indiana spent the day on the campus of Purdue University in West Lafayette for their annual High School Shootouts. Thursday featured a loaded slate of teams and a ton of talented prospects. The 6'7" forward continues to showcase his skill development while knocking down three-point shots and attacking the rim off of the dribble. He is an excellent rebounder, big time athlete, and very versatile defender. He is a very legitimate shooting threat from the perimeter and handles the ball well enough to attack closeouts. The 6'4" scoring guard transferred from Blackhawk Christian where he spent his first two seasons. LaCross is an excellent shot-maker and all-around scorer, which was on display at Purdue, but it was his strength and physicality off of the dribble that really stood out. Vernon (Fortville). He shot it in from the perimeter, drove hard and finished with both hands, and played off of two feet at the end of his drives. The first pay that really caught everyone's attention was a quick right-to-left crossover that he used to get downhill and then he elevated for a big one-handed slam down the middle of the lane. Smith continued to make tough plays off of the dribble and facilitate to his teammates. It is so impressive to watch the 6'8" forward/center essentially operate as Mt. Vernon (Fortville)'s point guard. He is very comfortable handling the ball and is an elite passer. Wilson, an athletic 6'1" guard, is going to be part of a dynamic backcourt that can put up points in a hurry. He helps the Bulldogs play fast, excel in transition, and provides some three-point shooting ability. Wilson shot it very well on Thursday at Purdue in a game against Blackford who will be among the Class 2A favorites next season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
