We've seen that some of the higher level players in Minnesota played well and are about to rise their stock but what about the players that have people talking that might get a chance to push things to a whole new level? We break down those names today.

[player_tooltip player_id='2140675' first='Owen' last='Brezinski'] of Lakeville North (2027). One of the hardest working players at the event and schools noticed. As a three man Owen has a pretty good handle at the position, he takes the right shots and is very good using his frame with the attack, and one of the best rebounder threes you will see. His work ethic was noticed and I think will be rewarded very soon. Opportunity seems to be coming.

[player_tooltip player_id='2877064' first='Carter' last='Brown'] of Duluth Denfeld (2027). [player_tooltip player_id='2877064' first='Carter' last='Brown'] stands about 6-foot-6 and he is a mobile and agile player with good skill. His potential is quite high, he just needs to become a more consistent and aggressive producer at the 17u level and I think things can take off. He had a couple jumpers and attacks that went that really had college coaches talking and then when the coaches do their research coaches see the 27 points and 13 rebounds a game from last season. Carter is so close to opening the door to a ton of opportunity.

[player_tooltip player_id='2412724' first='Dre' last='Collins'] of Richfield (2027). Dre has been 15u all state, 16u all state, all state for Richfield, etc. High school sports just doesn't have guys at 6'3/6'4 that run really well, explode off their feet, have the strength and have the agility all together that can defend a player like [player_tooltip player_id='2412724' first='Dre' last='Collins']. The physical abilities of Dre had a number of schools talking and while they know that the D2 level will have players that are bigger-faster-stronger on the whole, they also know that Collins can become more skilled and take advantage of all of that physicality. Collins did what he has down all year, rebounded and rim ran for finishes in bulk.

[player_tooltip player_id='2824353' first='Tate' last='Goergen'] of Southland (2027). [player_tooltip player_id='2824353' first='Tate' last='Goergen']'s a faster and more athletic player than most players his size in high school basketball. The state track champ led a major upset this weekend over one of the stacked teams and he did it as a ball handler, creator, smart passer and finisher. I will say it again, a small school Talan Witt with Eminem hair, Tate led his team to the state tournament and was one of the top small school scores in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='2424180' first='Grant' last='Hansen'] of Orono (2027). Grant plays his tail off. He is a battler. Type of guy that will make a jumper and then run to his man to pressure, or attack the rim to score and then try and instantly defend the ball. He battles over ball screens, takes on challenges of bigger players, and downright competes. One of the toughest players in the state pound for pound and that was seen all weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='2560534' first='Tre' last='Moore'] of Hopkins (2028). [player_tooltip player_id='2560534' first='Tre' last='Moore'] is making a case as the top player at his position in the state. Not just class, not just his age, not just the metro, everywhere. He has faced everybody that is considered a top lead guard in the state recently and has defended them all at a very high level of success. Moore is a strong and athletic 6'0/6'1 guard that doesn't over shoot but he makes a good percent of his attempts, and Tre is a smart passer that keeps the ball moving.

[player_tooltip player_id='2385822' first='Brooks' last='Rechtzigel'] of Cannon Falls (2028). It's hard for some players to step up to the challenge of playing against the best players in the state and have confidence, but Brooks did. The one dribble pull-up was there, the feet set perimeter jumper was there, and he didn't back down from any challenge against high level players. Brooks made a high statement this weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='2569233' first='De'Anthony' last='Sells'] of St. Cloud Apollo (2027). Every time I see Sells in the gym a couple college coaches want to talk about the steps he is taking. At 6'6 he can do things around the basket because he is long and quick off his feet, but now we are seeing some face-up ability and more defensive consistency. The type of guy that can get double-doubles naturally but also shows you something new every game.

We've seen that some of the higher level players in Minnesota played well and are about to rise their stock but what about the players that have people talking that might get a chance to push things to a whole new level? We break down those names today.
